Sounds good, it looks like a good price for a good driver. I tried a buddies r7, didn't fit right (he's short) but felt pretty pretty good.

I hit a demo HiBoreXL at Golf Galaxy and liked the way it felt. Plus they are under $150 just about everywhere.

I bought a Nickent 3DX Square from Rockbottomgolf. The best $100 driver you could ever buy (that's shipped). This was a month ago, but I don't think its much more than that now. I picked up the 9* Tour version with a UST V2 Proforce s-flex. Very easy to hit. It will probably be my main driver, I'm still test-driving

Nickent 4dx tour.

Recently got a brand new 9* on ebay for $150 w/ Aldila NV 65-s. Sounds good, looks good, hits bombs, and is workable.

Irons: J33 Combo

You guys may think this is funny. And I was laughed at a couple of times when I pulled it out, until I ripped it down the fairway like a string was tied to it at the other end, but I have a Hippo Giant 400cc Titanium, $100.00 brand new, stiff shaft and a power house of a driver. Now I use a launcher, but I still have that Hippo and I am not afraid to whip it out in front of anyone and let it go.

Would you guys buy the Nickent 4dx tour:

My 5c: you can't go wrong with either. You should now stop beating yourself up over a choice and get down to the range and practice. If you're anything like me, you agonise over the club choice and waste valuable time actually practicing

- I bet we all suffer the same problem. Get out there and learn to love whatever you buy. Let us know how you go. Hit 'em long and straight. Good luck

The PING G10 is fairly cheap and is very forgiving and long. I find myself hitting toe and heel balls that stay in the fairway and usually pass my playing partner's balls. I swear by this driver :)

I bought a Taylor Made R5 TP driver with a Daimana shaft on ebay and I believe they are selling for under $200 now. I hit my friends Titleist 905 drive and it felt great.

If you can demo either the Taylor Mader R7 or Titleist drivers on the course or driving range and you buy either one I don't think you can go wrong.

good luck and happy driving

    • OK - I think we should narrow down a weekend, and start there.  We're going to try to do this in June. I've created a Doodle poll where everyone can vote for the options that work for them.  Please include your username so I can track/post results. Doodle Doodle is the simplest way to schedule meetings with clients, colleagues, or friends. Find the best time for one-to-ones and team meetings with our user-friendly calendar tool. Get started today! (I only put in the Saturday dates, but assume the outing would include Friday - Sunday). Once we select a date that works for the most people, I'll start to line up courses and schedule and go from there.
    • Option #2 because I'd add the condition that it's in a tournament. Because that'd mean I'd break par in a tournament. And I already have a hole in one.
    • Hole in one is nice, but those low rounds stick in my memory better. I have two holes in one (and a third on a pitch and putt course which I count as a half). I've shot in the 60s three times in the last 10 years or so and I remember each one pretty well. I'd take the low round.
    • Would You Rather #68: Would you rather make a hole-in-one on a perfectly struck shot, during a round where you otherwise played pretty poorly.  or  Would you rather play well all day and beat your personal best by let's say 3 strokes, but with no eagles.    I'd take option 2.   Although option 1 is always exciting, and rewarding. playing well all day is very exciting because I can also do the opposite.
    • I've got two of them.  So for me it depends. If I'm playing with friends and they know me. I'm taking the hole-in-one. Because they know my game anyway. Let's go for the awesome moment/bragging rights.  If I'm in a tournament I'm taking the low round, because I want to win.  If I'm playing with a bunch of strangers, and I just show up, and get paired up. I'm leaning toward taking the low round. I could leave them thinking I'm better than I am. Plus for me that would be a 73. ... That would be cool.
