scotty circa 62 putter care?

what do i have to do to care for my SC C62 putter...I have seen oil rags on SC online store, but cant find instructions (when or how much?).

i have a circa 62 model 1 and after every round ill wipe it down with a damp towel after my clubs

The answer depends on which Circa 62 model you have.

I have the Charcoal Mist version and it requires little more than a wipe down with a dry towel after the round. If you have the gun metal blue version, I think it requires the oil rag after each round.

With all the SC putters, and probably any putter, you do not want to leave it in a wet headcover or leave it wet at all.

one rule, really: make sure it's always dry.

My Circa 62 is the original gun blue. Never use a wet towel on it and always wipe it down with a dry towel before putting it in the cover. The putter will rust if you use a wet towel or put it away wet. You can get one of those oil rags to wipe it down to prevent rusting, but I use gun oil whenever necessary to prevent rusting.

Well, after trying out numerous putters I ended up with a CVirca 62 #2 with the gooseneck/bent hosel. I was really trying to talk myself into lats year's Newport 2 model (at $50 less), but the 62 just felt better after about 4 different trials. I have always played the Newport/Anser style so curous as to what the goosneck might be, but it feels soooo good!
So, charcoal mist with the gun rag?

If you really want to make sure there you will be rust free is to get some silicone spray (I use the "3-in-1" silicone) and just spray the head and then spray it on the inside of the hc also.

Like people have mentioned I would NOT use a damp cloth.

Yes you may use the Cameron Cloth or Baby Oil and a soft cloth. The Charcoal Mist putter I would oil once a week and the Black Oxide the same. The Black Oxide could probably be oiled a bit more depending on how much you play. The important thing is that you leave the headcover off over night after you have played as the headcover can hold moisture if you have played in damp conditions. I hope this information is helpful.
