Tip lengths for drivers - What do they mean?

Can someone give me some insight on the tip lengths for drivers and what it does exactly?

I currently have a 10.5 degree HiboreXL with (R) shaft - mid/low kickpoint. I'm looking to change the shaft to a Mid or Mid/High kickpoint because my drives are ballooning and I'm getting almost no roll.

Also, can anyone give me some suggestions on a shaft that will give me a more penetrating ball flight? I have no problems getting the ball in the air, and my swing speed is about 90-92mph.

90 - 92 stay with a regular flex shaft. the tip length is for the maker. they can make the shaft play in so many ways depending on how he "tips" the shaft. all you need to really know is that your tip diameter is .350 from what I remember.. but we can use shafts that are thinner..they just have to be shimmed and it won't effect play in anyway.
I had ballooning issues too with the stock shaft and then the YS 6 shaft... i went to the diamana white board and i've never been happier.

Golfsmith Technical Dept. on their clubmaker's forum, yes it is.
