Today i played well in a par competition with 4+. However i noticed i was hitting a fade with every club in the bag(except high lofted wedges). I would really like to hit a draw however it seems that it can be very unreliable and can easily lead to a hook. My question to you sand trappers is what do some of the most well known pro's play as a natural ball flight? And do you think i should stick to the fade?

I play a natural draw to straight ball, but I prefer a slight fade shot for my driver and approach shots to the green. I believe the power fade off the drive has a better chance finding the fairways and the fade into the green is a nice high shot that stops faster for hard greens and shots over the bunker.

I can hit a slight draw when I need to by slightly closing the face of the driver or irons and take may regular swing.

Stick to whatever is comfortable with you; however being versatile to any situation can also help lower your score.

In response to your question I do know that KJ Choi plays a left to right ball flight. Assuming that you use a traditional grip try rotating your left hand on the club to the right a wee bit until you can see the top 3 knuckles of your left hand. See what that does to your ball flight.

    • Can you elaborate on this?  There's a par-4 hole at the course I've played the most (was my home course for over a decade, now 50 miles away but I still go and play there) whose green is below the fairway and I realized recently it's one of three holes on the course I've never made birdie, despite that I often have a short iron into the green for my second shot.  It isn't even that I haven't made birdie, but I realize I often don't hit the green.  My typical play of the hole is to have a near-GIR and sometimes I get up and down, but not as often as I would if I were trying to 2-putt.
