Two members have recently been banned to differing degrees.

rogerhuang was banned for sending derogatory PMs to me regarding my wife, a business I'd sold several years ago, and all sorts of off-the-wall things. He did so unprompted and after several days of inactivity, so I have no idea what prompted it. This came within a few weeks of several somewhat racist threads for which many other users gave rogerhuang negative reputation.

joshtpa was banned for lying. He modified something I said to him and then "quoted" me to another member. I'll put up with a lot of stuff in private messages from people, but outright lying is never one of 'em.

Another member was also sent a PM about reputation abuse. To be clear, reputation should not be used for the reasons "thanks for the +rep" or "you need some +rep." Reputation - both good and bad - should be used for exceptional posts, again either good or bad. Reputation should not be used to suck up, "just because," or as thanks for someone else giving you positive reputation. Reputation, ideally, should also be anonymous - both good and bad; for bad because it inhibits "retaliation" and for good because it inhibits abuse of the "thanks" type I mentioned previously.

On a personal note, you know what, I sometimes totally suck. We all do. However, if you have a problem with me or any other member, private messages TO THAT PERSON are always the way to go. Never is such a discussion better in public and never is it better to talk about someone "behind their back." A long-standing belief of mine is that I'll be the first guy to tell a friend when he screws up, and I expect the same from him. I'm brutally honest, but I can handle the same. If you have an issue, send a PM.

People who lie cheat and send dodgy PMs have no place on a golf forum let alone a golf course. Well done captian and good riddence to bad blood

If anyone has any questions, PM me about it. I forgot to close this one, but will do so now.
