Yea i bought some Wilson Staff balls there today. They also had some titleist, callaway, precept, taylormade, and bridgestone, along with some nike one's. As far as a lot of the clubs... I'm not sure

Favorite Ball: Srixon Z Star X

I've bought balls there a bit....especially in the early morning when I'm heading out to play somewhere and running low on ammo.

The only thing I wonder is which exact balls are you getting with Callaway and Titleist balls. They are called something different at Walmart....part of their contract, I'm sure.

I did try some Callaway gloves from Walmart for my last two gloves. They came in a two pack and were really reasonbly priced. They are synthetic and have cabretta leather pads stitched in. Good for summer play as they dry very quick. I simply alternate holes with them and I always have a dry glove ready to go.

Used to always get my tees from there, too.

Every dozen of balls at wallmart is $2 more expensive there than it is at any golf stores around here and they are all named the same.

I usually walk in there, punch the old man greeter in the stomach, then proceed to the golf isle and empty box after box of balls on the floor, then I go and buy a sweet tank top and 36 oz. Slushy and walk out a satisfied customer. This helps with my mental state after a round of golf. So, I would recommend Walmart.

With Wallyworld, the balls from name brands are normally X-outs. That is what Titleist I have seen there.

I found this incredibly rude, but I couldn't stop laughing!

Nothing wrong with X-Outs is there?

Around here the walmarts have the standard selection of high end golf balls plus some recycled balls and some x-outs (that are labeled as such). Target sells some of the "higher end" balls, but their golf section is fairly pathetic in general.

I actually bought a hybrid 4 at walmart 2.5 years ago when I first started out. It is a taylormade rescue clone I think. Anyway, it works great.

my walmart has a standard collection of golfballs which are all 4 to 5 dollars cheaper than the local golf shops. they also sell adams rpm fairway woods for $17. I didnt buy a fairway wood but that seems like an incredible deal considering they have graffaloy shafts on them.

That's right. Wal*Mart does not sell Pro V1 or V1x or NXT or NXT Tour.

I couldn't find what model Titleists Wal*Mart sells looking on the Wal*Mart website, but did find Wal*Mart's Callaway balls - CXR, CXB and CX3. These "CX" balls aren't listed on the Callaway website - but these Callaway balls are: Tour I, Tour IX, HX Hot Bite, HX Hot, Big Bertha, Warbird, HX Pearl, Limited Edition HX Pearl and HX Practice Golf Balls. How in the world do you know what you're actually getting if you buy CXR, CXB or CX3 balls from Wal*Mart?

Yeah, a friend of mine has purchased "Callaway" balls from Wally-world before. They are the CXR, CXB, etc as mentioned above. It doesn't even have the same Callaway logo. Are these really Callaway balls???

I have not experienced this. The Walmart near me carries Nike Platinum and Nike Black golf balls. They also carry the Top Flite Gamer and Freak, both new balls and Callaway Hot Bite, Warbird and HX Hot series golf balls. Inclusive, they just started selling older models of Adams Hybrids. I was shocked to see Adams clubs in Walmart, listed at $69.99. They did not have a huge selection, about five pieces of the same model.

Our regular Wally-World, has the usual selection of mid-level Titleist, Callaway, Nike etc, plus they have Zero Friction tees that I just picked up to try out. The Supercenter however has the higher end Pro V1's, Nike Blacks. It must just all depend on store. Our Target use to have all the high end stuff, but then discounted them all and got rid of them. I bought 2 boxes of Titleist HVC Soft (dont believe they make them anymore, but I love them) and 3 boxes of Pro V1's for just under 50 bucks.

At my local Walmart the only thing golf realted worth buying is tees and magazines....maybe shagballs. Except for the Nike Blacks, which they keep behind the counter, the balls on the shelves don't have enough spin to stick a bunker much less a green.

    • Right - better can mean different things depending on the situation. It might mean scoring better or it might mean closer to a functional swing (which in the moment might be scoring worse).
    • That's certainly "basic" information. I need a lot more info than just that for a good chunk of my even teen-handicap golfers.
    • As we said… define "better."
    • Phone launch monitors are only getting better.  The cameras are improving with each new generation of phone and software is getting more accurate.  It is only a question of time before phone apps are good enough for all the basic information a golfer needs (club head speed, ball speed, carry distance, total distance).  It makes me wonder about the value of launch monitors in the long run, barring high level amateurs and professionals who want very accurate data and more parameters
    • I live in South India so temperatures are virtually never cold enough to stop play.  Just that the monsoon can make play difficult.  I am just not willing to play in the rain and kind of reluctant to play when the ground is soggy and balls are plugging all the time.  And since we don't have snow here, any time the ground is dry enough I am willing to play
