107 degrees. Plus, the average heat index has been 6+ degrees warmer than actual temperature. no wind too, so no natural fan.

It's taken away our ability to walk. When the sun is shining on you with this heat, walking takes too much out of you, and it's to the point where its unhealthy. It really sucks. I've really started to hate the carts. Walking makes the game more enjoyable,IMO, and we cant for another month and a half.

Oh well, anyone else feeling the heat?

It hasn't been in the 100's, but it's been close plus a ton of humidity. It makes a bad round even worse.

I live in Palm Springs and play more often in the summer time because the rates are great and the snowbirds and tourists have left. 108F is the average high during the summer and 115F+ isn't uncommon. Its a nice dry heat though and I try to get out before 6am. On the rare occasion that we get high heat with humidity it is miserable.

It's pretty brutal here (Galveston County) at the minute, hanging around the 100 mark with oppressive humidity. We have been trying to get out early but there's no wind at dawn so its still pretty miserable. We actually quit on the 14th hole this morning, bit of a late one last night and just weren't enjoying ourselves enough to keep going.

98 today with a heat index of 105. BTW, riding in a cart is always more fun than walking.

99.9 with 88% humidity today in the Kansas City area according to weatherunderground.com. A bit more breezy than it was yesterday (not a bit of wind yesterday). It should be this way until Wednesday. We get at least a couple of weeks of this every year.

A cart sucks compared to what? Sitting at home? I agree it's better to walk but when it's bordering dangerous to walk, the cart suits me fine.

I used to do the walking too but here in TX, it's near impossible. Especially when the next five day forecast reads like this.....106, 102, 97 (rain), 100, 100, 100

It was 101 yesterday, with 80%+ humidity. I walked 18 and then hit a bucket and practiced my short game. I know I am weird, but heat just doesn't bother me as long as I get plenty of liquids. I am 52. I must get it from my father. We walked 63 holes one day with upper 90s temps. he was 62 at the time. I am a complete wimp in the cold though.

I try not to golf when it gets over 100 unless I am on a golf vacation in Scottsdale. And then we get the earliest tee time as we can so we can be done by 10:00 and be in the pool slamming beers by noon. You can play some awesome courses for very little money during the summer rates in Arizona.

Here in KC 100 and humid is not that fun to play in; 90-95 in the summer is about our limit - - - it's just not fun.

I live in Jacksonville. Of course I feel the heat. I've taken numerous vacations to other parts of FL and nowhere competes with JAX's humidity.

    • I don't have enough details to know what to tell you, man. If they were walking across, to play devil's advocate, maybe just wait another 10 seconds next time.
    • Day 11: Putts with a metronome and worked on some feels for greenside shots.
    • I realize the frame cuts off my tail but wanted to specifically see my hand path and club shaft and head travel from A5 to A7 with the grip and posture work I have been doing . This might be the shallowest I have managed to get the club head to enter into impact. I like the finish much more as well.
    • Context:  I used to play golf very regularly (and when I'm playing regularly, I'm on TST regularly).  In summer 2022, I got my handicap down to a personal-best 11.9.  Unfortunately, in the three years since then, I've had far less time to play, and didn't really make the time to practice.  I've played a bit more the past few months, and I anticipate having a lot more time to practice starting in about two months, at which point I'm hoping to go back to my old practice habits (practicing daily, Evolvr lessons, spending more time on TST (come to think of it, I can do that important last part now)).   But it was thinking about how different my nines have been a few times in the past month or so that made me wonder if there was a thread here about it, and sure enough, there was.  In the past month or so, I've had a 38-46 and a 45-39.
    • Day 2 - range session. Focus on tempo. Not as good as last time, but good.
