Since I was a wee younging. Last year played minor midget AAA and went ot a few junior A camps though this may be my last season since I think I will choose baseball as what I'd rather go hard to get an NCAA scholarship for.

Any of you guys planing on getting NHL 09 for 360? if so tell me your gamertag i will add you up.

To be honest I'm suprised at how many hockey fans are on this board

"Don't drink and drive, don't even putt."

High school and college hockey in Minnesota, where I grew up, was an even bigger deal than football. Since I moved, people are shocked to hear it!

Cheerleaders, pep bands, the whole nine yards, if you could even manage tickets. A gopher game cost you five bucks and three hours.

My dad who played ball at UND said the atmosphere at those NCAA games were just awesome.

Devils fan from Cali? How did that come abouts? And this season should be fantastic, we should have a GREAT year with a really deep offensive unit.

Once again another sad, sad Canucks fan; my sympathies

.... Go Habs! I've been playing hockey since I was 5; let me see, now 39....darn, doing the math makes me feel old. I'm now playing in a 35 + league in the winter, and a group of us rent the ice and play throughout the summer on Fridays. Nothing better than going playing some golf, then hitting the ice later in the day

my dad is from nj and we have been fans since 99. Yeah we do. We just need Gionta and Elias to pull their weight this year. They both had lackluster seasons last year

It's the same thing here too dudes opening night for UNH hockey is a State-Wide Holiday around here while the other sports get barely a metion. A UNH vs. UMaine hockey game around here sells out 6 weeks in advance ... it is SOOOO intense ...

I played for like 10 years, won two State Champs as a goaltended and then my Junior Year of HS I completely shredded my ACL AND MCL in my left knee ... I can barely skate anymore (3 surgeories and the arthritis has set in, and it hurts every day ... ) luckily I can play golf ... I miss playing every year!!! I go into the sports stores around here and I see the little 18" goalie pads and I say to my wife ... I don't care what we have for children as long as they want wear those (goalie pads aren't sexist, they don't care if a girl or boy iswearing them)!

Go Blues

I think they will do really well this year with the young team and the rebuilding is going pretty well.

    • Back in my Army days a "gooch" was a particular part of the anatomy. Example, say Okeechobee is the b-hole of Florida, then Belle Glade would be the gooch. Seems he wears his name well.
    • I can't say that I remember a lot of individual putts, but I do have one specific memory.  The first time I played the Old Course, I had hit a pretty good drive on the 6th hole.  I had about 60 yards left, and due to the swale in front of the green, there was no chance of flying a wedge on or near the green and having it stop on the green.  My caddie recommended either a running 7-iron chip or a putt, and I took the putter and a pretty hard swing.  The ball rolled over humps and through hollows, disappeared into the swale in front of the green, and re-appeared heading right at the hole.  I ended up maybe 12 feet away.  The caddie turned and held out his hand to shake mine, and said "Now THAT was a golf shot!"
    • For the first time since 2021, I made a 3 on the 12th at Stoneleigh.    395 yards, something like 80 feet uphill, I hit a solid drive and a 7-wood to inside a foot.  Even I couldn't miss that one.  I feel like I haven't played a lot of golf this year, but I'm making decent progress.
