Just curious I usually play Callaway HX Hot however at home I have enough land were I hit old balls over and over. Some are 15 years old and probably been hit 200 times. Just curious how much farther using a 3 wood would a new HX Hot would go compared to somthing like a topflight XL that is 15 years old and has been hit 200 times. I am sure it depends on the individual golfer but I am guessing with a 3 wood on the average 30 yards. Thanks for your guesstament.

I had to read your post twice since there were no punctuation marks.

I have read that you can lose 10-15% of your distance with 3 year old balls but since your practice balls are 30 years old you are losing about probably 30 so if you hit a 3 wood 200 yards with new ones you are only going to lose maybe about 60 yards depending upon impact.

Well what i have been reading people are getting an extra 15 yrds with a new driver every two years and when they move to a pro-v 1 e.t.c they get an extra 10 yrds,so i'm guessing everybody gets 25yrds extra every 2 years with ball and club.So without doing much with swing mechanics if ya chill you can be hitting 300 yrd drives in about 8 years.
Now to answer your question, distance of hitting a 15 year old ball compared to a modern ball with a wood,i reckon 10 yrds difference if any.
