i'm caught between 6.0 and 6.5. I guess i'll have to custom order some 6.25's.

So hard step some 6.0s or soft step some 6.5s.

Wow, hit the AP2's today...Wow! I love them! I must have a set!
Last?...The Project X shafts are designed for a more piercing flight than the TT, correct?

I switched from Calloway X-18 to AP-2's early in the year. I really like the AP-2's but you will notice it if you don't hit the sweet spot.

I think that they may be alittle tough to play for someone with a 20+ handicap.

Have had the AP2's for a few weeks and have been thoroughly impressed. Used to play MizT-Zoid Pros with DGS300. The 5.5's are very close to the S300's but softer in my opinion. No change in ball flight for me as a result of the shaft. I tried the MP57's, X20 tours , TM, etc but went with the AP2's. It was between the 57's and AP2's all the way. What sold me was the AP2's were less harsh on thin hits and spun a bit less on approach shots. Most of my shots with the MP's backed up too much to control. THe AP2's usually stop and finish where they land or back up only a few feet. It really helps me control my distance and play to the pin.

To the poster who compared different clubs, AP2 5.5's and MP33 6.5's, that's why you had such a different ball flight. Not likely the clubhead. The difference between the 5.5 and 6.0's is significant. You may find that, based on your preferred ball flight, different shafts in the long and short irons are better for you. Try the flighted shafts. The varying kick points help keep the ball down with the shorter irons.

Ive never played a round with the ZB's but ive hit them alot.I thought the ZB's had a little bit of a softer feel on a well compresed shot and the AP2's where more muted, but both had similar feed back through the shaft. Both sets were P-X 5.5's

One isnt really more forgiving than the other i found - you miss AP2's on the toe and you're still going to be punished for it just like the Z's. The AP2's do launch higher though, but they dont ballon. The 4-5 irons are real easy to hit high. Thats the real magic of them, imo.

I came to the AP2's from the 695cb's (which are a degree stronger) and i hit the AP2's slightly farther. I carried my 695 7i 155 on the dot with a normal swing. I hit the AP2 7i around 160 with the same tempo and that ratio increased for me as the clubs got longer. The 9i and PW i hit similar distances, go figure.

    • Day 20: Did 30 minutes after getting home from work, before kid's baseball practice. This session was piecing out the new hip move in transition, doing 2-3 rehearsals from the top, and then hitting a ball from between P5/P6. Did another 45 minutes after baseball practice and dinner. Did 30 more minutes of what I did earlier, and then about 15 minutes of full swings trying to incorporate athletically.
    • Day 296: did a stack session.
    • Day 126: 5/1/24 Putting and chipping practice. Slow motion swings with 8-iron.
    • #4 - 1st hole at Kingsbarns I rolled in a 15 footer for birdie. Showed my caddie an old guy could still play a bit. #3 - 18th hole at Basin Harbor Club, Vergennes, VT. I had played matches against my nephew over the years. He had never beaten me although through the years he had become a long hitting teenage golfer. I was 1 up but bunkered near the 18th green. My nephew had a long putt for birdie. I splashed out of the bunker to 4 feet. He rolled his first putt close and I gave him the par. Sadly for him, I rolled mine in and won our last match. He went off to college and then Europe for a Ph. D. It was our last match. Family champion forever. #2 - First playoff hole in the City of Livonia, MI “65 & Over” division. I rolled in an 8 footer that broke about 4-5 inches. #10 Whispering Willows GC. #1  18th hole at TPC Prestancia, Sarasota, FL. A 4 foot slicing putt for par to beat the prior year’s Member/Guest winners and win the Member/Guest with my father at his club. I was having heart palpitations as I played the final hole solo when my father put two in the water. There was never a better golf sight for me when that ball dove into the hole.
    • Finally, wedges getting somewhere. This one a punch gap from 87 yards to about 12 feet. Contact and ball flight absolute restaurant quality. It's nice when grass comes back.
