Simple question: which young South American player do you think is better?

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

Driver: '07 Burner 9.5° (stiff graphite shaft)
Woods: SasQuatch 17° 4-Wood (stiff graphite shaft)
Hybrid: 4DX Ironwood 20° (stiff graphite shaft)Irons/Wedges: Apex Edge 3-PW, GW, SW (stiff shaft); Carnoustie 60° LWPutter: Rossa AGSI+ Corzina...

Camillo looks more consistant overall but I love watching them both, Villegas when he scored -5 or so on day 2 of the Open Championship when everyone was struggling to make even par was fantastic viewing.

Romero is great fun to watch and he is my favourite golfer, I love his attitude to the game and shots he hits- he maybe throws the course management book out the window and goes for shots but his rounds are always exciting filled with birdies and bogeys.

I met Romero last year in Carnoustie, I met him in a local pub with his caddie and few argentine press. Although Romero spoke very very limited english, he truly was a nice guy, Nobody really bothered him but my friend decided to go over and say well done to him on his round and his caddie translated they then invited us to sit with them and have a beer, We ended up spending 2hrs with them and speaking mostly to his caddie and Romero who was so gracious and down to earth just to even be competing in the championship.

I couldn't say, I haven't seen enough of Camilo to comment, I do know that Romero is a very, very, very good player though.

I think to me it's Romero. I do think some players are just more exciting to watch and Romero is a very skilled player. Villegas sort of bores me. Its seems he is more caught up in his look then his golf.

T9 at U.S. Open

T4 at PGA Championship Villegas is legit. He is going to be a good player for a long time, and his time to win will be very soon. It's actually good to see him play so well on tough golf courses. That being said, Andres Romero is also a very solid golfer. This year, other than Romero's win, Villegas has been a little more consistent. But a win is a win, and that gives him an edge over Spiderman right now.
Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I will go with Romero, I like his swing it looks so simple and fluid. Camilo is a good player but I think that he needs to win.

Regards!

villegas is solid, he'll be a contender in the future, hes got a good repeatable swing, and he'll win a tournament soon. romeros a good player too, and i heard he's a really nice guy.

OMG what a great thread. I'm a HUGE Romero fan. He plays the way I play. Birdie, double, birdie, par, double, eagle...well, no eagles here. I think Villegas MIGHT win a major first, just because of the experience, but long term I'd back Romero. I really like this kid!

Well it's kinda of simple Romero has won Villegas hasn't, so right now I have to go with Romero. I am a big Villegas fan, and I do think he will be better in the future. I could totally see him win a major.

Aside from the wins I think Villegas is a better player.

Length, short game, mental toughness.

Once he wins the first nobody will stop him, like Kim.

Look at Camilo at the US OPEN and PGA, very tough courses, both TOP 10

    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
