This was a running joke between a golf buddy and the guy he's played with for years. We got a laugh about it when he made the statement to me the other day.

I've been pretty conservative over the years and gaming a club for way longer than my playing partners do. That's been the case until recently....replaced all the woods.

Now I'm doing the same with the putter. Gathered up all the older stuff laying around and traded it in for a new putter the other day. It really has helped groove my putting. I like it and plan on playing with it some as well as using it for practice.

Now I'm a believer in keeping an eye on the horizon....look at some of the new stuff out there. I still can't believe how many wonderful shafts are out there....a golfer would be nuts not to try to find "their" best fit.

I guess I'm changing away from the "keep it no matter what" mentality.

Ive been the quite the club ho lately too. Ive bought several woods, several wedges and a few putters. Im pretty happy with the set I have now though, Id just like to get a set of more forgiving irons.
Im pretty much done club hoing for now though. We're pretty much caught up at work, so they took away our overtime. Without the overtime, I dont have the extra money every week to blow on golf stuff.
There are 5 paydays in October though, so I just might order a new set of irons then.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

Golf equipment turns strong men into shoe shopping wimmen faster than any other hobby. It's sick. At least we get *some* of our money back through trade ins and resale on the net.. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

OMG, I actually snorted when I read that! Glad to know there's actually a name for this condition, gotta say that to my dad when he ask's "Didn't you have a different set of clubs last time you were up here?"

in my EDGE bag:

10.5* XLS HiBore Driver, Fuji stiff VP70
15* XLS HiBore 3 Wood Gold stiff
22*, 25* XLS HiBore 3H, 4H, Gold stiff MP-57 5-PW, DG S300 MP-R 52 gap, MP-R 56 sandwedge SM Vokey 60 Lob Newport 2 Detour Pro-V1X, NXT Tour, Callaway Tour iXIgolf NEO GPS

the oldest piece of equipment I have is my bag... it is 3 yrs old and my eyes have started to wander (and I don't even know why).

Also... I just bought 6 dozen balls and 2 FW woods for my wife online at 1:00 AM... I have a problem

Seriously though...
I used the same putter for almost 14 years...
I really needed new wedges this year (old ones were getting VERY worn)
I just upgraded all irons... old ones were about 8 yrs old
4 yrs ago I had tiny little steel shafted woods (cc size not even on club)
3yrs ago I replaced said tiny woods with 350cc driver and matching FW... I just couldn't go all the way (460cc)
Last year I had to go to 460cc

Now... if I could only find a 3-wood my life would be complete... and maybe another new driver

My Clubs: Callaway FT-i Tour LCG 9.5° w/ Matrix Ozik Xcon 6 stiff; Sonartec GS Tour 14° w/ Graphite Design Red Ice 70 stiff; Adams Idea Pro 2h(18°) & 3h(20°) w/ Aldila VS Proto 80 stiff; Adams Idea Pro Forged 4-PW w/ TT Black Gold stiff; Cleveland CG12 DSG RTG 52°-10° & 58°-10°; Odyssey...

LOL, I dont feel so bad now, Ive had my Zing 2's nearly 12yrs, and have just given in to a new set of Titleist AP2's, and looking to add a couple of Vokey's too. I shouldnt feel so bad about it it seems after 12yrs !!

Only got my first 'new' driver 2yrs ago too, my G5, but I'd got down to a 12H/Cap without anything more than an old 3 wood anyway, and I still have my old steel shafted Callaway War Bird 5 wood in my bag, which I cant seem me moving on quickly, cos it goes like a bullet

Remember guys, it aint the song, its the singer ! I know new stuff can inspire you and all that, even help you in some ways, more forgiving etc etc, but you still have to swing it right, so careful you dont get too caught up in chasing stuff to lower your scores.

In my Bag:
909D2 10.5deg DFX Stiff
WarBird 5 Wood - steel shaft.
Titleist AP2 3-PW
Vokey Spin Milled 54 & 60deg 2 Ball Ball : ProV's.

I won't deny that I suffer as well. I have just this week replaced by 907D1 with a D2 and Vokey 60.04 with a 58.12. I had an FT-5 only 6 months ago!!

23Rounder

Launcher 13 & 17 Fairway / Fujikura Gold Stiff

I am always ready to "fire" anything in my bag.
Currently looking to replace irons, FW woods, wedges and putter.
Just got my driver last month(Aug) so it's safe for the winter. (maybe)

Just bought new irons, a new putter, and a new fairway wood. My bag is newer than my driver...I have a 2006 Sasquatch and I don't plan changing anytime soon at all.

ok, well i had a decent excuse for buying new clubs. im 14 y/o, and i grew about 4.5 inches over 4 months. i also owered my handicap 5 strokes this year. I made varsity as an 8th grader adn got rewarded with the clubs in my sig. Dont worry, it didnt cost more than $500, because the pro at my country club got all new clubs free from his contracts, and he sold off all of his old clubs. he is a very short man, so all of his clubs fit me. He got me the mizzys for 350, and the wedges, brand new, for 150. i bought the driver as a callaway "I mix" and i think that it will save me the money of reshafting drivers over the years. i can change the heads when they come out with an update, and keep my shaft. My shaft, by the way is a mitsubishi rayon diamana blue stiff, which i got for $30 (Dont Ask) from one of my friends. I ended up probably gaining money on this one. and the putter is my dad's old one, and he now plays a scotty. oh, and i got the bag free from my neighbor

Yeah I've wanted a new set of irons for sometime but I would hate the feeling of dropping hundreds of $'s.

If I had the money I might buy some new clubs every week. Currently in my bag my driver is the oldest (I think it goes back to 2003 or 2004). Everything else is 2 years or less old (to me). I have owned a few newer drivers in the last couple years but always end up back with the old TM R540XD as I just don't like the large heads on new drivers. Currently tempting me are new irons (after all, mine are 2 full seasons old) and 3 wood (it's about 3 years old) and I'm always tempted by new drivers. I buy a lot of used stuff from Golf Galaxy and Golfsmith as opposed to always buying new so I'm not wasting as much money.
