The Sand Trap has immediate openings for two positions. The first is for Hittin' the Links, and the second is for LPGA coverage. It's also a soft requirement that whomever is hired for each position also occasionally cover other news items, op-ed pieces, etc.

Main Perks and Benefits

  • Have a podium and loudspeaker to talk about one of your passions
  • Reach a large and influential list of readers
  • Work with fellow staff as passionate as you
  • Items for review
  • Newport Cup!
  • Some money to be made...
As with anything, the task is what you make of it. The Sand Trap is not looking for someone who can't make a commitment to giving the try a fair go, but we're also not super-hard core. We're doing this for the fun of it, and a few nice things along the way, with an eye on the future and the potential to do some pretty great things.

If you're interested, email me at erik@thesandtrap.com . Please introduce yourself and use some sort of subject line that makes sense... Feel free to PM me if you'd like confirmation that your email was not mistakenly marked as spam and that I did in fact receive it.

We've filled our HTL spot (thanks Jeff G), but now we're seeking someone to resurrect our interview column, "Throwing Darts." This position entails putting together lists of questions for 1 or 2 people per month in coordination with me, then editing and eventually publishing the interview.

You'll have the chance to get your name (and questions) before the likes of everyone from industry CEOs to Tour players to superintendents and head pros - everyone in the golf industry.

Someone who can regularly join our podcast at 1pm on Fridays (ET) is a welcome bonus.

    • Here is one of my swings where I made what felt like good contact. This isn’t a full speed swing but maybe it should be because a big fault of mine is over swinging. So what im working on is, from A4 my first move has been hands going out toward the ball. This seems to have caused tons of inconsistencies for years. I’ve just made it work with decent hand eye coordination, I guess. Like I said previously, the swing thought/feel is from A4, the lead arm/hands drop down and back to start. Then I feel like my hands get as close to my quads as possible. I’ve never come close to this because my brain never believed contact could be made from there.   Also, this all began when I decided to get the early extension and flipping out. Overall goal is a consistent swing and ball flight and get into some tournament play and get competitive in my club championship.  Hope I get this right, I haven’t done it in a while.        Disregard the pants…I got hot in the garage..😀 I also thought I clicked the audio off on the video but obviously did not.
