I just broke my copper Ping Eye 2 irons (red dot) out of my closet this weekend to show a fellow golf nut. they brought back a lot of memories and they may be the best irons ever made.

I soaked them in coke for about 30 minutes and they looked like a shinny new penny, then I put them back in the hall closet of fame. (i was tempted to go out and hit a few balls with them).

Is this legal? I have herd of using Vaseline on a driver to decrease the spin I wonder if wd40 would do the same thing and if it is legal?

No, it's not legal.

Thanks. Thats what my wedge looks like but it dosnt have the rust. Mine looks like a black nickel but every couple days rust comes up and I just rub it off. I was really wondering how to prevent the rust to come back.

I initially removed the finish about a year ago with hopes that it would rust sooner. However, it just doesn't seem to rust and only developed a few rust spots over the year. I don't think the weather here is humid enough.

Does coke prevent rust to come back?

In my case, it got rid of all the rust and no new rust has really come back. You have to make sure you keep it dry though.
