Whatever works, but have you tried anything in between, like a 7 or 8 degree? I have heard of guys using 6.5 degrees, but no lower than that. If you are a +4 then accuracy is probably more important than distance for you so if you hit the 5 degree straight then more power to ya.

If he hits the 5 degree in the air, a helluva lot of power to him!

Jeev Milka Singh uses a 6 degree driver! just read it in a golf mag

You can still get Killer Bee LD (which appropriately enough, stands for "long drive") in 6-degree, I think, from Golfsmith (I know they still have the 7.5) -- and people swear it's an easy club to hit. I can't imagine it.

yes that is the 18th at Hillendale... up until recently I hit 3-wood off the tee there... and would usually hit another one up the hill... that hole plays 580 easily... and when the wind blows you aren't getting there in two... (prevailing wind is into from the west) and the other "par-five" is a joke... I actually hit 2-iron off that tee to give my self a little bit of a challenge, because if I hit driver, I'll probably have no more than wedge in.
