I want to know how many hybrids you carry and why? I am debating whether or not to dump the 5-iron. I hit it weak off of the fairway and find it really inconsistent. I just reshafted my hybrid with a steel shaft and am still waiting on a verdict. I like it so far, but it waits to be seen. Any thoughts or comments will be interesting. Thanks

3 and 4 hybrids. I took out my 5 wood.

None. I am learning, so I think that if I learn to hit my long irons, I will be able to hit hybrids in the future, when I start worrying about my handicap instead of my fat shots .

Two currently.... TM Rescue 4 (22°) and 5 (25°). I have a 4W instead of the 18° hybrid that I used to carry.

I'm now up to 4... 18* (2), 21* (3), 24* (4), and for my upcoming 50th birthday, a 27* (5). I'll get a 30* (6) when I turn 60 ;). I carry GW, SW, and LW too, so I'm playing now w/o a fairway wood. 18* hybrid goes pretty far.

I have a total of 3, but usually only have the 3H and 4H in the bag along with my irons staritng with the 4. I hit the 3 and 4 hybrids well and hit the 4H better and farther than my 3 iron. Based on that, I tried a 2 hybrid, but I don't hit is as consistent or any farther than the 3 hybrid.

I carry one, an Adams Boxer Pro Hybrid, 3 iron replacement. I can hit my long irons but the hybrid is more versatile than the 3 iron. I don't have room for any more lower lofted hybrids since I carry 4 wedges and like to carry a 3 wood for par fives and tight driving holes.

I carry 4 Hybrids. They fill the gap between my 6 Iron and the driver. I carry no fairway woods. I can hit my 16° 2h just as far and significantly straighter than I can hit the 3-wood.

I carry a 17* in place of a 5 wood and recently added a 20* and pulled the 3i. I can hit the 3 iron fine, but the 20* flies a bit higher and fills the gap better between my 4i and 17*.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
