jason may be have the fastest today but he is still trying to catch mike austin

mike austin's flammer shown here will enable any one of you to hit it 300 yards

to be truthiness, austin swing techniques are used by many long ball hitters, including zubiak himself while the the hammer is a marketing gimmick of a long ball champion

That old man is a joke straight up, the hammer is also a joke of a person.

The hammer claims to fly the ball 400+ consistently......??? I don't think so....

hahah what a clown

Tiger Woods would give Zuback a run, I believe, but Tiger plays the game for a reason, not just to mash golf balls.

Time to clear some things up.

The "old" man was the real deal. Mike Austin used to be the record holder for the longest drive ever on a golf hole. He hit it 515 yards with a 40mph wind. His swing speed was measured at over 150mph. Jack Hamm however is an idiot. He never even competed in a remax long drive event in his life. As for Tiger and Zuback. Tiger isn't even in the same zip code as Zuback when it comes to driving distance. Long ball hitters are a different kind of breed and most people just can't believe that there are A TON of people out there that hit it way further than any tour pro. Remember that charity event when zuback hit his drives 60yards+ past bubba watson? Tour pros aren't on the tour because they can hit it further than anybody else. They are on the tour because of their short game. As for swing speed and ballspeed. It varies from machine to machine. Professional long ball hitters are in the 140-155mph swing speed range and have ball speeds of 200mph+. This will give you an idea of how fast 140mph + swing speed is:

Golf is a game in which the ball always lies poorly and the player always lies well.

Now this thread is wanting me to go crush some balls at the golf range. By crushing I mean hit it 250+.

If you don't mean regular tour guys (Phil, Tiger, etc), I'm pretty sure both speed records would belong to Jason Zuback. Club head speed may not be listed, but his ball speed is reported to be 204 MPH in this particular attempt.

Wow! What's his handicap? But more importantly, how bad is his short game?

I believe his handicap is +2. It's a common misconception that long ball hitters are bad at golf.

Lol wow that guy looks really buff :P Probably sucks at short game though, seriously. I don't think he's that type of person who would look at the greens so carefully and hit the putt oh so soft

He doesn't need to. He drives for dough.

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
