it's called rod-iron! just kidding, anyway can you post a video so we can see you tempo, ss is not the biggest factor in selecting stiffness, john daly plays with more flexible shafts the nick price. also its also hard to believe without seeing, if your ss is 145 then you should have shaft makers asking you to play their shafts. but if it is true then i dont care what shafts you have your shots will baloon because of crazy amount of spin.

I'll put up a vid soon.

I'm going to a club manufacturer soon to see if they have anything for me.

You know what, I have the Ping I5's with the CS Lite shaft, hit them great but was looking for a little smaller head. I got the Ping i10's with the AWT shafts and I'm litterally a club shorter. Have you heard of this.

I'm sorry, but I can't understand why a scratch golfer who drives it 360+ is asking equipment advice on an internet forum. It sets off my BS detector.

another shaft that is kinda rare but it is available sometimes if the True Temper DG S500 (yes S-500). i've seen them in the past and although rare, i think that might be up your alley. you might need to contact True Temper though to be sure....

first off, for irons, should go with rifle project x for your irons and get them made for you in a 7.0 thats more than x stiff, and driver, since your ballooning it, get something like the graffaloy prolaunch red, its a low launching shaft, should help with the ballooning, and get it in xstiff, thats as stiff as they make it

xstiff will not be stiff enough for a 145mph SS. he said XX is nowhere near stiff enough for him and he already broke a xxxx stiff shaft. so noway will a x stiff work with that kind of SS.

on a side note, there is an article in this months Golf Digest (or Golf Magazine?) about the new guy on the long drive circuit with the 150mph SS. i believe he also went to House of Forged (I could be wrong, but HOF was mentioned in the article), and the article talks about his driver shaft. you might want to check that out (Its this months Golf Magazine with the white cover and Tigers face on it...not sure which publication it is off hand)

I don't know what to do anymore. I still hit my 3 iron higher than most people hit their PW.

I'm never sure that when I have a miss hit or don't hit it solid if it's a swing fault or if it's the equipments fault.

Just how important is having the right shaft in your clubs?

Golf is a game in which the ball always lies poorly and the player always lies well.

Here is my proposal: go to your next Long Drive tourny. Go to the guy that just beat you and ask him what he uses...

You won´t find good answers from us (mere mortals in the 110mph average) in this forum. It´s like if Rocco Sifredi went to a *****house asking the losers he saw there advice on how to screw women... wouldn´t make much sense, would it?

Please don´t swing while I´m talking !!

I'm looking to buy new shafts for my irons. I'm currently using the S300, but they aren't stiff enough since I have an extremely high swing speed. Most of the time my shots just balloon in the air and go left or right.

damn..so that means your driver CARRIES around 360 yards?

are you sure you're not looking at ball speed instead of head speed?

On the Internet anyone can ask anything, no matter how nutty or off the wall. Easy answers, go to a store, get fitted, or try something else. But most of us already know that anyone, if they could swing at really high speeds would tone it down to levels which afford some degree of control, and that should put you in the X100 or 7.0 area with no issues.

    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
