It's sort of like saying do you prefer coke or pepsi? One is not better than the other all of the time. You can find which one is better for YOU through testing and proper fitting, these irons are for different player profiles. Get fitted because no one swings like you.

PS BTW, Admin doesn't like it when you imbed your WITB into your post, put in your signature (user CP).

I have hit both. I think the AP2s that I hit had the same shaft as the CG Reds, DG S300. AP2s might have had Project X 5.5.

AP2 had a lower launch, better feel, better looks.
CG Reds had higher launch, more forgiveness, were too flashy.
I thought the CG Reds had a harsher feel than I would have expected. The Red insert is supposed to help out with that. The AP2s were somewhat forgiving and I really liked the launch angle.

It comes down to what you prefer.
(I tried the AP2s, i10s, CG Reds, and r7 TPs. I thought the i10s were the best for me (feel, forgiveness, launch, weight) so I bought them.)

I purchased a set of the AP2s mid-way through last winter and could not be happier with them. I was playing Cleveland CG4s prior to the Titleist purchase. These irons did lower the ball flight, much in part to the Project X shafts. They sincerely made me a better player. The feedback was much better than my previous set, but still allowed some forgiveness. I demoed all types of irons before I made the purchase. These clubs are the best! However, with that said, you need to get what works best for you. Who knows, maybe you'll really like the Cleveland reds, but I'd be surprised to hear that people choose those over the AP2s on a regular basis. At the end of the day the AP2s are a much better club IMHO. Good luck with whatever decision you make

I have only tried the ap2s. They looked huge at adress and didnt have a lot of feedback, but thats compared to my blades so for player-GI irons they were pretty good with a pretty good feel for the class of club. Good luck

I've reviewed both on the main section of the site. They're not even comparable clubs in my opinion.

Im about to go buy the CG reds here in a week or so. But Ive been playing with the CG golds for about a year so I feel I can make the transition easier than I would to a different iron.

For what its worth I do think you wont get fair feedback for this particular thread on this site. Not saying anything bad about the AP2s or titleist in general. But this site is sort of overrun with titleist fanboys lol. So I think your going to get skewed feedback

Clubs I havent thrown in a lake yet

I was thinking the same thing. After talking with a pro, my decision was between the AP-1 and Cleveland CG Yellow, which are moderate GI versions of what the poster is deciding between. And my handicap is lower than his. Anyway, for what it's worth, I went with Titliest.

They arent Titleist Fanbooys for no reason.. Its because the clubs work better than the clevlands in most cases. Just because the CG REds, well, they suck, and the AP-2s dont doesnt mean that people are "fanboys"
