hi,
I have decided to sell my Titliest 907D2 (see my ad in the marketplace) - its just to much of a players stick for where I am at. I am trying to find a much more user friendly driver - or forgiving driver. I find the the taylormade burners to be too light. I have swung some Cobras and liked them and they are at a good price right now. I am having a hard time figuring out the difference between the LD F and the LD M models - can anyone clarify what the difference to help me make my decision? I am open to all opinions about Cobra drivers and other forgiving drivers you think I might want to take a look at but I am primarily interested in Cobras. thanks in advance for any help
oh and if it helps my swing speed is around 94-95 mph and my miss is a slice when it happens.

F stands for fast and M is moderate. This refers to your SS. F is for people that swing between 87 and 108 MPH. The M is for 76-97MPH.

The M is more forgiving and promotes an extra high launch angle. The F is more tuned for distance, with a high launch angle.

hey there,

I have to say , i'm bassically in exaclty the same scenario as you as far as swing speed an inital problem being a slice. I also have no problem getting a good ball flight, so I might suggest tryign to get a 9.5 degreee dirver

If I could make one other suggestion, along with the cobra's you may want to look at the FT-i callaway drivers. For me it's because I want something to improve accuracy . I think it may be more expensive though. Happy hunting, I'll be interested to see what you end up doing and hearing your feedback. Cheers

hey thanks for the reply
question for you though - why do you suggest a 9.5 degree driver?? Isn't a higher lofted driver easier to control?? like a 10.5?

A driver you might want to consider is a Taylormade r7 460 maybe a superquad. They are relatively and are shut to help limit slicing. As for cobras I have hit the L4V and it hit okay but sounded horrible. Oh and as to my info on the shut face of the 460 and superquad here are some links-

I love the sound of a Cobra driver, you certainly know when anyone within 300 yards has hit one. A 9.5* may help with lowering trajectory but could exaggerate your slice. Best bet is to get hold of the F and M models and try them out. I once played with a guy (mid 30's) who played a seniors model Cobra (think it was 13*). He hit the ball too high for my liking but he said it really straightened out his drives.

you should go for the f model and go 10.5 even players on tour play drivers with 10.5 lofts and try shaft fitting after you get your driver it is really helpful

When I said extra high, I didnt mean to the moon. The shaft is what makes most of the difference. It never bothered me.

As for the Superquad, I truely loved the driver when I hit it. It, along with the Callaway Hyper X are some of the best IMO. Cobra is good, but every shot sounds weird, I cant explain it further than that.

i have a 08 f speed ld 10.5...get yourself on a launch monitor and find out what combination of loft and shaft stiffness fits you best...every driver will be different. i was playing a hibore 10.5 and wanted something that would help me out with a lower trajectory so when i was hitting new drivers i found myself trying 9.5's, but had mixed success depending on the model. the graphite design shaft on the f speed has more of a mid kickpoint, and that combined with a 10.5 gave me a consistent launch angle that i was happy with. it fit my swing but you'd have to do that same thing to find which one you like...

another thing to consider is the high torque on the shaft of the f speed, takes some time to get used to, i find myself torn whether to reshaft at this time....somthing with similar flex characteristics but lower torque and stiffer through the tip...maybe a christmas present to myself

Are you set on cobra's?

If you not, you may want to try the Ping G10, or even then new Rapture. They are very forgiving, but slightly workable, and the shaft options should give you exactly what you're looking for.

I have a L4Vf and love it, I did have to reshaft it though. The stock shaft was a little "whippy" for me. Its an incredibly forgiving driver and the sound really doesnt bother me at all. Also, look into the TM 07 burners, I have one very easy to hit though not as long as the cobras.

I never thought of that. That's pretty close.
