I have always had trouble getting good spin on my wedges and I have to admit, I am a sucker for a good info-mercial. They seem to be reasonably priced and I see them a lot on Ebay.

Has anyone tried these wedges? Any feedback or comments would be greatly appreciated.

i think there are better ways to create spin. Number 1 a good wedge with grooves milled to usga max. Number 2 move the ball back in your stance and make good ball first contact and pinch the ball against the turf. Number 3 ball i noticed in your sig it says you use a nxt extreme that is a low spinning distance ball try a high spinning ball i.e prov1 one platinum, one black, nxt tour ,prov1x, tp red, tp black, bridgestone b330s, b330
So try thosse three things before you buy a non conforming redicualous spin wedges that you really will not have any control with there main focus in making these wedges was spin not playibilty.

I would try to create spin the legit way. As anthonykim said, move the ball back, pinch it, and buy a spinnier ball if you care that much. Check out that Golf Magazine article on "Which Ball is Right for You". Some balls that are super spinny are low in distance (Nike ONE Platinum).
The Spin Doctor wedges seem like a cool thing to mess around with. They spin the ball like crazy, but I would never play a round with them as my wedge. They seem like cheating. Actually, they are cheating.
If you hit a wedge correctly, you'll get spin anyway.

To answer the question in your sig: if you scare me 1/2 to death twice, I would be 3/4 dead. If I'm already half dead, and I get scared again 1/2 to death, that eliminates 1/2 of a 1/2, or 1/4.

listen, if you have trouble getting the ball to spend, go ahead and buy a Spin Doctor wedge. those things will absolutely blister the ball and make it back up like a beee-otch. i bought one just to use for fun and was blown away with the thing. i made the ball back-up uphill thru the rough back onto the green once, and the guy who was standing near it at the time said he could 'hear' the ball spinning, lol. and ive holed several shots by backing the ball up with that thing. and they are actually made pretty good too. very traditional shaped head, weight, etc. they are a lot of fun to use. sure there are a lot of purists out there who will tell you not to use one, but if you want to have some fun and watch peoples faces light up when you back a ball up 20 feet, go ahead and buy one and have some fun with it.

I've been playing the NXT Extreme because I got 3 dozen of them brand new in the box for $15 bucks. I like for how it feels and plays off the tee. But I am not partial too it. I am definitely going to check out some other balls. Thanks for the info.

A couple of points.

The Spin Doctor comes with I believe five insert choices, only one of which is non-conforming. That would be the reverse-groove insert which, unfortunately, is the one that really spins the ball.

The other thing is that playing the ball back and pinching down on it produces spin with a hard shot.

The trick is when you have to play the ball forward and hit it really soft. You've got a small but deep bunker between you and the green, and the hole is cut only nine feet in (rules minimum) from your side.

First, you can't have any significant bounce on your wedge because you have to slide it under the ball. You're not in any position to take deep divots here.

Second, you can't hit the ball hard enough to impart spin with force. You're trying to stop a twenty-five foot shot dead in its tracks.

Here's where you like those cover shredding wedge faces to really bite the ball. If a Spin Doctor is too obvious, try a Miracle.

scruffy scraper one thing that imparts spin on the ball is loft. So if you have to land the ball soft 25 yards away with a deep bunker between you and the green. What you can do is open the face a lot and take a hard swing so you can swing hard enough to spin the ball. But i find even just using a 60* wedge and putting it way up high you can land it soft enough. But try opening the face of the club and swinging like a 50 yard shot instead of 25 and you will get more spin.

Not to be a smart ass but a few of you have said "pinch the ball against the turf". Hasn't it been talked about over and over again that you aren't pinching the ball against the grass. It is impossible to hit the ball with the face of the club and pinch it against the grass.

the spin doctors are a waste of money. they dont get you any better, they just prove that you can spin a wedge. the removable faces wear down really quickly and tear the covers off balls. they are fun to use, however your money is better spent on a quality spin milled wedge.

just think of it as a wide pinch. the ground is keeping the ball stationary while the club is hitting through it. even a high lofted wedge needs the ground to keep the ball there as it travels up the clubface. it's not sliding up the back of the clubface because the ball is not moving in a negative direction to start with. Just because the angle of the clubface to the ground is over 90* does not mean it doesn't "pinch"
