For those of you who tried both lofts, how much more yardage (meters) do you get from 13* fairway wood compared to 15*? Both off tee and fairway.

Any advantages/disadvantages you see from using a 13* (or 13.5*) fairway?

What is the next club you use if you do carry a 13* (or 13.5*)?

18* (or 18.5*) or something else? Thanks.

I'm a 14 handicap who has trouble hitting a 13* fairway wood off the deck. I have a set of Titleist 904f's (15* & 19*) and have no trouble hitting them from the fairway. I don't miss the extra yards off the tee I'd get with a 13* FW since I'm pretty accurate with my Ping G2 driver. My 3 wood is used off the tee on narrow fairways and shorter par 4's.

The 15*/19* setup is perfect for me.

High Handicapper here, cant use a 13* off the deck so I'm using a Ping G10 15.5*, its easy to hit off the deck and off the tee too. They say the 13* G10 is also easy to hit but I haven't tried it yet. After my 15.5*, I have a 5 Wood at 18* and a 22* Hybrid.

I think the shaft is more important then club loft here. I have a 13 steel and a 13 graphite and the graphite goes longer and higher. On windy days though, I will take out the steel version and it will give me a tiny bit less height and less distance as well.

I like lower lofted fwy woods in general though.

Be careful when you purchase a 13* 3 wood... it may be 1-2* open so if you arent used to playing a cut you may actually get less yardage from a square 15*.

I have 909F2 or F3 in mind. Correct me if I am wrong but I think they have square face. Yes, I do realize that some brands have open faces compared to their 15*. Thanks for the heads up though.

Edit - Corrected typo. D2 and D3 to F2 and F3.

Hah he must be a sweeper if he plans to hit those off the deck. hah plus i don't think you can get either in 13 or 15, he must be planning to bend them.hahhah

The 909F3 is a mid launch with .5* open face
The 909F2 is a high launch with .5* open face

According to the brouchure on the their website... this is true for all lofts.

Hah how did he not break his driver? I don't get that, everytime I see that I'm so surprised the club doesn't break, and I was joking that you cant get 13 and 15 degree drivers from titleist, I know you can get both fairways, except i think the f2 is 13.5 and 15.5

For those of you who tried both lofts, how much more yardage (meters) do you get from 13* fairway wood compared to 15*? Both off tee and fairway.

This would depend on the conditions of your course. The extra height from the 15 degree might give you more carry on a course where there is no run and end up being longer than the same shot hit with the 13 degree. A lot of players will have trouble controlling the stronger lofted club.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I play a 13.5 and i dont fly it much further than i would a 15. Probably less than 10 yards. I use that loft mostly for trajectory reasons.

I play a 13* cleveland 230-235yds max, and i play a 16* taylor made rescue 220-230yds max. I hit them both great from the deck or on a tee, i just stay low longer on my take away, that keeps me from getting steep.

i gamed a Callaway FT 13º and a Sonartec GS Tour 13º 3 wood before i replaced them with the 15º. i really didnt notice any difference in length, just a lower trajectory. but i never went out and measured my shots either

I had a 13* 3 wood and hit some of the worst shots I have evr hit with that thing. Probably the shaft because the 906f2 15* with the v2 is a money club for me. I smash it dead straight anywhere from 240-260 depending on how hard I swing. Its a shame I dont use it much. I would go with a 15* 13 0r 13.5 seems to be less useful in my opinion.
