I bought a 909F3 15* a couple weeks ago. I think I hated this club more than any club I've ever hit. I guess it's just not for me. I don't know what it is about the club, but I'll snap hook one.. shank the second.. worm burn the third.. it's almost like the clubhead is the size of a dime and I just can't hit it solid. The clubhead size isn't an issue though.. before buying this I was playing with ollld Titleist Pro Trajectory fairway metals that were over 10 years old and even smaller. I have no problem hitting them solid.

I really gave the 909F3 a chance.. I kept it in my bag for a couple rounds.. tried it off the tee, off the fairway.. spent time with it on the range... I just couldn't stand it.

Today I hit all the fairway woods in the store off a launch monitor and wound up going with a Ping G10 5 wood. It felt the best and I hit it most consistent.

I like my G10s also.

Don't know about the current Titleist stuff....it's been years since I owned any of their gear. When I was playing well it did okay for me.

I am suprised I actually just got done looking at the hot list on the on golf digest and they said in the areas of preformance look sound and feel it was second to none.

i I was thinking about buying one since I was looking for a new fairway wood. I wonder if its something you would just have to get use to then it would be a good club.

Honestly, I didn't even hit it on the launch monitor. I bought it based on the way it looked at address... which I suppose was pretty stupid.

I was just curious if it seemed ok on the launch monitor but just didn't perform on the course... Glad that you were able to find a club that works for you... Did you have the Voodoo or Diamana shaft?

Sounds to me like you got the wrong shaft. Too light, perhaps, or something, because if you can hit other clubs squarely but can't hit this one squarely, that's not the clubhead's fault. No club'll work well if you don't find the center of the face consistently.

As you can see in my sig, I'm a big fan of PING woods and hybrids. They are long, feel great on impact, and if you get the right shaft you can work them and land shots pretty soft IMO. Never had a Titleist fairway, they look nice, but till PING steers me wrong, I probably won't switch.

In my SX76 StaDry

    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
