the driver you get all depends on your swing. There is one driver that does shape to almost every swing- the TaylorMade R7 Superquad, which i have. It is the best driver i have ever had. I have gotten more distance and straighter shots out of that than any other driver. Try one out at your local store. Ask an employee about the weight configuration vs. flight patterns. It takes 2 minutes to change the weights (literally) and the effects are immediate. Try it out!

I suggest you go get fit from a reputable club maker. With off the rack clubs you never really know what you are getting as far as loft and face angle. There is a tolerance of +/- 1* for every loft, lie, and face angle. so your "square" driver could be very closed. A good clubmaker can measure the club head and find one with the face angle you need. If you need help finding a clubmaker let me know.

Went to Golf Discount today and saw the Callaway FTI Tour LCG and heard about the FT-5 Tour (haven't seen it yet)? Just saw they went on sale and are only $199.99. Looked pretty good. I've never had a callaway driver before because of the face looking to closed. Is the face on the Tour more open? Has anyone had any luck with the Callaways?

Theor are to many Drivers out their..

I would go for the Titleist 909 D2. I know your budget is only $350 but you can get one on Ebay brand new for under $300 without any problem.

Not sure about this but I'm pretty sure the tour version of callaway drivers are square and not closed. And for the new models they make you may 30 extra dollars for the same clubhead but with a square clubhead. Somebody correct me if I am wrong.

The new FT-9's are actually open 1 degree on their new model. I have a new Cobra driver I would sell and ship for $180 CAD if you are interested. PM me if you want the details.

But dont confuse the Tour with the regular Burner ctw262 mentioned; the regular Burner has a slight draw basis

    • That answers my question.  That feels more natural to me. I'll work on that. Thanks
    • Complex question. Good players begin pushing forward around P2. Visibly around P3. They're well on their way forward at P4.
    • Still plugging away with the teacher.  I do have a question after working on some drills last night. This is something I should know already but for some reason, I have gotten myself confused. It deals with weight transfer on the downswing. At what point, should that take place?  Should it be early (prior to reaching A4) ?  I ask because in one of my drills  I get to A4, I feel the weight transfer AS my arms drop, and then go.  Now this may be totally normal, but I "feel" like this gets me in a weird timing position and causes me to try and do too much at once.
    • Tentatively in for at least one of those days. My job situation is a bit up in the air at the moment so need to get that sorted out first then I'll know more for sure or not.
