Yeah, I think this is more for the better player, that tends to square it up, I think it is really so they can maybe whip their wrists more, or just to get some more workability, without having to try it, so if a straight player wants to play a high fade for a weekend, then he can crank it closed.

No, that makes no sense. The better player plays it as set (which is why they tend to like an open clubface - it ain't to hit draws, but to avoid them).

Closed clubs are for players that want to hit a draw or who struggle with fades/slices. That's why TM TP models and better player's clubs have open clubfaces. You don't close 'em to hit fades.

Well, that's straight off of my Tmagconnection booklet.

That's also the way the Nike Dymo str8 fit is to it seems a little backwards but that's what it's designed to do open it for less loft and clse it for more.

. . .this R9 driver really intrigues me! I used the Super Quad last year and liked it, but still had a slight fade/slice much of the time. Just the thought of setting this club up with a click or two closed setting and using my normal swing. . .i just might hit a few more fairways and increase my distance a bit.

I'm getting fitted for one as soon as they come out!

Well I meant sometimes if they're trying to get some more distance with a draw, or just whip their hands, they could leave the club-face a little open, this could help with straightening that. Also, I think this could be a situation like, where the pro goes and plays his practice round and says, these fairways are sure soft, I'm getting no roll, so he closes the face, leaves the club open on his swing(2 degrees open let's say) so that would mean a square club face at impact, but the impact loft would be around 11.5 if it was a 10.5, giving him more carry. Vice versa for roll.

    • Ah.. my regular weekend league. Lol Scrambles are fine. Usually there's charity involved. So there's that. There are much worse events Im forced to attend twice a year.
    • Does Justin Thomas have a massively underrated short game? It seems every time I look up he's hitting it close from a tough lie after short siding himself. What masterful touch
    • I freaking hate them. Too expensive, cheaters, food sucks, too dependent on weather, I keep telling myself never do it again but I'm a dummy
    • I enjoyed the A-B-C-D scramble we did at Kittyhawk before it shut down. Yes. The point was to meet the other members and get the season kicked off. Nobody took it too seriously. At least with that group, cheating wasn't a big issue.  As the D part of A-B-C-D, I enjoyed getting to play with one of the Association's top players. One year I played with the city champ. Man could he hit a ball.  It probably isn't something I'd want to do more than once a year, but it has its place.
