Use your head and your instincts. You obviously know how to play the game. Dont over-extend yourself. If you can, play a practice round from that distance and see on which holes you can use your game to attack the course. If you cant get to a par 4 green with an iron, i woudlnt whip out a 3 or 5 wood and go bombs away. Lay up short and play for up and downs.

For longer courses the best thing you can do is work on your short game because you're probably going to hit less greens and when you do you'll have longer putts. So practive short pitches, chips and lag putting. If you try it hit the ball longer you'll only end up in more trouble. Play your normal tee to green game and expect to have to pitch/chip/lag putt more than normal.

When I started playing golf I was a really short hitter but I still played from the tips. You are not going to make any huge strides with your long irons in the next two weeks but I would work on your short game. If you hit the green in regulation 50% of the time and get up and down the other 50%, then you are still par or better.
