a snickers wrapper (if you have seen me play, you would know you are not going anywhere for a while)

and an empty bottle of water

i won't replace mine until it's worn to the point that it's hard...like sweat, and water have gotten to it that it's impossible to feel anything but how hard it is.
or there's a hole somewhere.
I take my glove off in between shots... and playing 3 - 4 times a week during the season from april - november inclusive..i go thru 1 and then have to buy another one around september or october...
if you're wearing your glove to the point where there's holes in them after a week..or even a month..you're gripping the club way too tightly

I have been using the same FootJoy glove for 2 years and it is still good. But I went ahead and bought a new Cleavland glove from my pro shop and it ripped when putting it on on the 26th hole. The pro shop did replace it last night though.

Once you get a hole in your glove, it's time for a new one.

I take my glove off between shots in the summer (I don't want a WHITE left hand). When it gets really hot and humid, I take two gloves on to the course, and alternate them between holes.

There's no big secret to it, I'm thinking you should replace your glove somewhere between
1) replacing it after every shot and 2) never replacing it at all.

Let common sense be your guide.

If you are going thru a lot of gloves... go see your local PGA professional.

I buy a new glove with every other box of balls.......so call it 20ish rounds of golf or so.

The old glove then gets rotated from primary use to backup status for the hot, humid days of summer and range duty......and so on, and so on.

Total use out of each glove, about 5 months from purchase to trash.

In David's bag....

You know when you know. I can tell just because it doesn't grip as well. I use three through the year and rotate them on each hole. They tend to last longer for me doing it that way. I know when they need to be changed when they won't evaporate sweat anymore and the stains start showing from it (I use FJ Sta-Soft). At this point they become usless to me as they just won't help me grip the club anymore. I always save the old ones for use on the range so I don't have to use a good glove there. Others I will put in ziplock bags and keep in the golf bag in case I need a dry one for a rainy day. I think right now I have enough that I could use one for each hole if I had to.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

I haven't had to yet, except that I bought one that felt real good out of the sleeve, then it stretched out and did notfit right. Now I have FJ large cadet but it seems really snug. It has also started wearing out on the butt of my hand pretty quick. I'm probably gripping too tight, but it just doesn't seem right.

what is the difference between regular and cadet gloves? I never tried on a cadet glove, because I was always afraid it was for kids and I would damage the glove trying it on.

I`ve been using a Master Grip glove for at least 7-8 months, trying to wear it out! It won`t tear, ect. I`ve got 12 new gloves waiting on it. In my experience over the years,it seems the "high end" gloves seem to die the quickest. I`ve had stiching in the fingers of FJ gloves blow out after 1 round.I guess you gotta go by feel, whatever is best for you.

I think for shorter fingers. I have thick hands, but not long fingers. This glove deffinetly has the correct finger length, but I would like a bit moreroom around the palm. I'm just going to go in next week and make a mess of things looking for a glove i like.

I replace them as soon as they get stiff from all the moisture. That's about every three rounds or 3 practice sessions.

I typically use 2-3 gloves in rotation for a round, it helps them last longer. I move a glove to practice use only once it starts to lose its shape or snugness when I put it on, sometimes if it gets too dirty as well.

I would say that I move a new glove into my rotation about every 10 rounds or so on average.

Once a glove is practice only, I tend to use it till it wears a small hole somewhere in the glove or just feels like it is totally slick.

I change as often as I want to ... funny story about that ... my wife bought me new golf gloves as a Christmas present. She ordered them on line somewhere (don't remember where) and put in "quantity = 2." What she received (and subsequently gave me) was two BOXES of 24 gloves each. We had a good laugh and waited for the credit card bill to arrive so we could correct the mistake and all she got charged for was the sale price of two gloves!!!

Anyone need an extra glove??? HAHAHAHAHA
I make all my own clubs:

That's funny stuff! But short of some flunky in a werehouse that doesn't understand what a unit of measure I found a great deal on my favorite glove. Austads has a sale on factory seconds on the Stay-Soft's at $9.99 each. I have been playing new ones for years and I can't tell the difference between the regulars and the factory seconds. I picked up 3. I'm set for the season.
