FWIW, those are awfully wide ranges. There's an enormous difference between an average of 30 putts per round and 36....

.......and of course, putts per round has to be considered in conjunction with GIR. My ave of 32 putts per round is only mediocre when it's viewed in conjunction with a 40% GIR. The same number of putts with a GIR ave over 50% would be much better.....probably worth 1.5 - 2 pts off the hcp index.

I agree the ranges don't work, you should tighten them up, huge difference between a 31 and a 36 (at least for me).


Anyways, my best rounds are 30 probably 29 putts, worse around 38

Yea i didnt figure out the poll aspect of the post...I now see the light and the force is with..... someone.

I don't really see the point of this poll. When you have a low number of putts - say 25 - it is generally an indicator of poor iron play and good chipping rather than good putting.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

That's true to some extent, but my good putting rounds still tend to result in lower scores.

I think it's bizarre that 28-36 is one choice. There's a huge different between 28 and 30, let alone 36.
