You cant really compare them both until Tiger has retired from golf, than you can look back and say he has the most major wins etc etc!

Yeah, the actual record counts for something...
Jack won 18 majors -- all time leader.
He also won 8 Senior or Champions Tour majors -- all time leader there, too.

I agree it's hard to tell with Tiger still in the prime of his game. But I think athletes only get better and better. My pick is Tiger!

It's in the hole.

I would have to say they're both equal in my book.

Jack played at such a disadvantage because of the hardware he had to work with, though Tiger is being hindered by some of toughest courses and conditions known to man.

They had an unmatched will to win, it's a shame Jack couldn't have grown up at the same time as Tiger...imagine the battles.

Turning 40 this year, I've seen plenty of both and enough film of Jack's early years. Prior to this year I probably would have said Jack, but now it's squarely Tiger.

but everyone in jacks era used the same equipment so it made it square, and yea people saying its easier cause the ball goes further.thats why they lengthen courses

They are both obviously the best golfers of their era's. But I would say Tiger is the best. Even when he isn't playing that well or hitting many fairways he still finds a way to win.

    • It isn't about maintaining focus 100% of the time when you are on the course. It is getting focus back for the shot at hand. Even PGA tour players will chat with their caddies or opponents about non-golf stuff, but then lock in. It is hard to try to constantly be 100% locked in for 4+ hours.  Totally normal thing to happen. You really only need a few moments of focus.  This is where a pre-shot routine helps. Maybe you need to add something that gets the focus back.  I just focus on every shot like a puzzle that needs solved. I like solving puzzle and problems. So, I try to be curious. Which then enhances focus. I think it lets me take each shot at hand. It lets me have the down time between shots. What I do is just get to the ball, and then start gathering information. Yardage, lie, wind, where is the pin at, etc.. Then I figure out what I want to do.  It's not like I can't shut off the thoughts and focus when I need to. I only need to focus for a few minutes before each shot.
