As the title states, how do you?

I really like the Ping Karsten B60 and the Anser, and have no idea which one to get.

well, i know which styles i can putt with, and which styles i cant putt with. i CANNOT putt well with the Anser style, full-shaft offset putters.

Well one easy way to tell is to putt 10 balls in a circle around the hole ten times. Or however much you need to tell which putter is right for you. Althogh, it could be hard to do this without buying the putter. Or just go with the one that looks the best, cause trust is so very important when putting.

All you can do is try various different kinds of putters and see what you like best.
Personally, I love blade putters, but I cant putt worth a darn with a mallet.

Its pretty easy. Go to Golfsmith or any pro shop, pick up whichever putters interest you, and putt with them. It may take some time, but you will figure out which one you like the most. You never know it might be the cheapest one, its all personal feel and preference.

Sooo many factors. For me it needs to set up well behind the ball. I need alignment aids (failing sight). Lie angle needs to be correct or adjusted. I don't like a putter that necessarily sets your hands ahead of the ball too much. etc. etc. Actually, right now I'm not really thrilled with my current putter but every other round I seem to go out and make stuff and I cannot justify changing.

I bought my Scotty based mostly on because it was a Scotty and it looked good, and I just figured I had to like it w/ out even trying it...... (bought online)

well, luckily yes, I do like my Scotty, but my other putter, the mallet style Itsy Bitsy Spider, I actually just picked up and tried at a golf galaxy on a whim and just fell in love w/ it.....

I think that the Spider will probably be my main putter for this year just based on how I was stroking it indoors..... it really felt awesome to me!

I just found that the Spider has more of a suitable weight to it and ball alignment marker on it that suits me better than even my Scotty.....

However, the Scotty isn't going anywhere..... WHEN my putting game goes to sh*t, I will switch them up.........

(This is where the mental aspect of the game comes into play)

You can get fit for a putter too and should. I did this and needed one degree flat, and a 34" instead of the 35" I was using. If you are a straight back and through putter, a center shafted is better( a la Zach Johnson), so know what type of stroke you have, and then narrow it down to some that look and feel good to you and take them out on the green and putt with them.

You MUST physically try them out. Took some time to try a Cameron I was sure based on looks, other people's reports I would like. Side by side with my Odyssey, I like the feel of my Odyssey better, so no Cameron for me. Everything would point to the Cameron being a great putter, and I'm sure it is, but feel with your putter is so subjective as is alignment, look, etc. when using it. If I had just ordered it, I would have been disappointed. Now I can look for a new hybrid!

I tried numerous putters in the past. I tried at the 'putting green' which was most comfortable. However, I found one that I like the feel, weight, length and feedback...Bullseye blade. No gimmicks. It works well for me.

Thanks for the responses.

Forgot to add that I HAVE tested the putters at Edwin Watts.

That is exactly the problem, I seem to putt very well with both.
The other thing is that I don't need another putter, I put just fine, but as some of you stated I want to have the option to change between putters.

As far as stroke goes, I am a straight back straight through but putt with a toe hang putter. I tried the face balanced Ping c67, but just couldn't go with the center shaft, EVEN if I putted very well.

I think I may go with the B60 first and play it a few rounds and see.

I know I am one to buy on looks. that is why I bought what I have. I still have to find my pure feel for it. But you do that with time. When you pick one that interest you, you more than likely go for the one that lookes good to your eye. That's not bad. You have to use it so you mine as well like it. now that being said. You have to be confident with it and it has to perform to your likeing. Or at least to what you think you can learn. I wasn't the best with mine. But after using the one I had in the past and learning to use it I belive that you can learn any thing. the way I see it, the putter is a club too and like all your other new clubs you have to, to some extent, learn it.

The putter in my avatar is the current one and the first good putter I've had. The previous one was a cheapo Pro Select which I broke after trying to hit it with a full swing on the range.

I chose this one because it give me feedback on my stroke and helps me aiming. It's a great putter, but I would like a bit more mass behind the ball. I've tested some blade putters, Cameron among others, the mass behind is better, making my putting stroke feel more controlled. But I won't change for some time, I putt very well with the one I got today and really like both look and performance.

Lately....I've been just the opposite.

As far as the type goes...I suppose you'd best figure out what type of stroke you have and mate up to best fit from there.

I have an old Odyssey that I like very much, but tonite I tried out a few new ones at Golf Galaxy. The new white hot's I absolutely loved! The face felt so great contracting the ball. The nicest putter I tried all night tho, by far was a Scotty Cameron Fastback Studio. Wow, that thing was so well balanced! I don't think I could ever get myself to spend $300 on a putter tho.

    • Day 24: did a stack session. Worked a bit on downswing feels during breaks.
    • Day 444 - 2025-12-18 Light day of hotel room work. GEARS Summit v2.0 today. Good day.
    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
