I do think its pretty insane, ive often wondered to myself while at the Buick Open what it must be like for those other players to see giant billboards and posters of him on trucks all over the tournament that they are playing in.

But people disliking tiger.....are you kidding me? If it was a team sport and you had a team to root for thats different. Hes going to go down as the greatest golfer of all time and his mental game is unlike anyone who probably has ever played the game. Everyone battles demons on the course so its astonishing to see a guy who can seemingly overcome anything and never loses it mentally.

I'll bet it's only YOU fans that have any kind of problem with the Tiger coverage, endorsements, 'god-like' status, etc... Because guess what...I'll bet you Daniel Chopra (who finished 9th or 10th) is thanking Tiger all the way to the bank with his $180,000 paycheck for his finish. Because guess what? If there were no Tiger Woods, that $180,000 paycheck would have been for 1st place.

So believe me when I say I'm sure there's a lovefest for Tiger on the PGA Tour as well because Tiger is paying for every mediocre players kids college tuition.

As much as I love and worship Tiger and his game, it is a little irritating that even when his approach shots land 10-15 feet from the hole, they're gonna praise his game and seperate him from the field. There is so much talent on the tour today that it's not so fair. It has to be the ratings. I believe that on the final group of Arnie's tournament yesterday, Zach Johnson played the best through the last 4 holes but NBC didn't even show half his shots...LOL. I love Tiger and he's back but the networks need to relax on the praising and save it for his bigger shots to come. It seems all of his shots amaze the broadcasters.

My recollection is that I saw all of Zach's shots on the last four holes, I'll check the recording and get back to you.

It was probably an exaggerated statement (lol), but I remember them skipping a few of his tee shots and approaches. Of course they showed his putts but I remember missings some of his shots when it went to commercial breaks.

They didn't show Zach much in the beginning because he parred the first 8 holes. Not only that, but he's just one of those players that's so steady there's not much to watch. He averaged 265 off the tee the final round while hitting 64% of the fairways. He tightened it up towards the end of the round when they started showing more of his shots.

. . .The sport does not need tiger. It's nice to have him but it does not need him. . .

We live for compelling experiences. To have Tiger on 18 with a putt for the win, how can golf coverage be any more compelling? Is this not the purpose of television golf and sports in general for that matter? Why is that Tiger is scorned for performing under pressure when the need arises? Why is he disrespected for providing what viewers and audiences pay money to see? Perhaps one would prefer boring golf, void of any drama? Golf needs Tiger, like the grass needs water. As Dan Hicks of NBC . . . "He [Tiger] is one of the greatest scriptwriters, not only in the history of golf but in the history of sports." We watch Tiger for such moments. Me love Tiger long time.

The sound of Tiger winning is the sound of money in the bank. For the networks, the PGA and the other players. Aside from that, who does not love a great story like the Woods Fairy Tale?

You nailed it down the middle!!!!!

What a Hollywood ending....standing on the 18th...getting dark...stacked stone around the greens edge.....two other cometitors working their putts.....Tiger waiting...watching...studying.....the crowd getting worked up silently....he addresses his putt and then finally strokes it perfectly.....perfectly like so many times before. The crowd roars and the camera flashes light up the night!!!!! After a celebration of pure joy with his caddie, his friend....he steps off the green and is greated by none other than Arnold Palmer. Can it get any better???? They had to be doing tripple toe loops in the studio.

I'm a huge tiger fan, but the 20+ replays of the putt, one after the other, some from the same camera repeatedly was annoying as hell. He's a great player, but we dont need 5 minutes of the same god damn putt to remind us of it
