I've been looking at stance width and feet positions today and can't help but notice how all these schemes show an open left foot.

http://perfectpracticegolf.blogspot....nce-width.html

I have always lined myself up with feet parallell and straight down the target line.
Does anyone here flare open the left foot like it's visualised on the link above? How does this affect the swing? I'm quite flexible, but when I see players like Tiger doing this I don't see how flexible you are is the key variable.

According to the scheme, this is done with every single club down to the wedges.

i've been doing this ever since i started. how i was taught from my pro. allows you to rotate better. just swing out to a target picked out on the right. when you line up, you put your right hand up and point it down the target line. then put your left arm up parallel to that, thats your feet line. notice theyre left of the target? as lee trevino? i believe if my memory serves me correct his quote "aim left, swing right, walk straight"

Yes, I've always flared the Left Foot. It allows me to get my hips through and hit my slight fade I want to hit. I square my foot if I'm trying to hit a draw.

    • The hell is Thomas Fleetwood wearing? He looks like a divorced dad from 1998. Even the shoes are hideous
    • I was wondering this and haven't seen it on today's broadcast OR yesterday's, but apparently Cabrera did show up.  He currently has the third highest score for the week and is playing his last hole of this year's event.  I'm not particularly keen to see him, but I was wondering if he was present, and he seems to be.
    • Hatton hit 18 GIR.  That's incredible.   Rory's tee shot on #8 reminds me of a TV show, Get Smart, that I enjoyed watching as a kid.  The protagonist would often say "missed me by that much."  Rory missed avoiding the bunker by that much.
    • Rory is still going well! Pulling for him.
    • Day 556 - 2026-04-10 Played another 17 holes, this time skipping #11 to pass a group that was still on 14 when we were finishing up. 😛 Not as good as yesterday, but more distracted by the mind's eye.
