All my friends talk to me and say "Wilson sucks, I can't believe Padraig plays them.". Yet, I have done some research and they have some nice clubs, like their new irons. Also, their golf balls are pretty nice and not extremely expensive. Not sure about their drivers but by the look of the Fybrids, they don't look bad. What do you guys think?

Not a fan of the look of the drivers, 3 woods or fybrids, but their Fg59 irons are pretty nice looking blades.

wilson sucks, i had a putter and a lob wedge. they both suck. But i think wilson stuff is good stuff, just haven't gain their reputation yet. They are different product line tho.

I like some of there new stuff especially the blades the smooth driver is pretty sweet looking to havn't hit it though Paddy must like it to as you can imagine he's probably had companies calling him day and night wanting him to play there stuff after his little run in the last couple of majors, we'll see what he does at contract time but I bet he stays.

My first set was some Wilson Staff forged, fluid feel irons. They were a hand me down from my late grandfather. The 3 iron was my favorite. Incidently, one of the last times my grandfather hit a ball on the course they lived on in Troy, NY, was with the PW. From about 100 yards out, it rolled up and right in the hole! Nice memory. If I am not mistaken, Wilson Staff irons have been around quite a while and were quite popular at one time. I have always looked at the company as if they have already had their heyday, but, are still around, unlike some companies most notably MacGregor. Wilson seems to still make some nice forged irons, though. I would consider them if in the market. I am not sure what other people impressions of the company are, but in recent years I remember those Fat Shaft clubs that never seemed to catch on.

Yeah i agree, they are kinda looked down upon, but they have strengths and weaknesses. And you're right about paddy, he is content with them obviously because he could be sponsored by any.

I learned to play using a set of Wilsons and quite liked them. From what I gather Wilson had a great reputation back in the day but then things stared slipping quality wise and they lost it. I may be wrong on this but isn't Wilson Staff a relatively new development, almost like a re-branding? From what I've seen lately they seem to be making some nice clubs these days, I've hit their hybrids and one particular set of irons but I can't remember which ones and they felt pretty good. Hopefully they keep putting out some good equipment and get back to being a top name in golf.

I am playing Wilson Ci7's and get a lot of good comments at the course. Most "good" golfers know Wilson Staff is a terrific brand.

In my case, I hit a lot of irons, and found the Ci7's to be the best for my handicap and price. I will recommend them to anyone from 0 to 25. Maybe 0 to 5 the pi5, but that is it. The only irons I like more are the Mizzu mp-62.

Don't forget they beat Titleist, cobra, nike, etc, etc on the Golf Digest thing.

Wilson irons are very underated. The Pi5's are really great sticks. You get no better value out of a set of players irons than you get with those.

Yeah I agree, they are pretty underrated.

I was talking to my dad and he was telling me "back in the day" when he was younger they were "the clubs" to have.

i personally think the whole Wilson Staff line is way underrated. they make some awesome irons. i would love to game the FG59's, the Di9's, the Ci7's, the Fi5's, they are all GREAT irons.

The blades look great, but there is something about the Ci line that just looks chincy to me, even though they probably hit great.

Wilson Staff clubs were very hgihly thought of when I played golf back in the 1980s. Coming back after fifteen years, I found a set of Wilson Staff irons I liked and hit well. I've always liked the balls too, and the price is right.

well I thought the idea behind the FG59 blades were to commemorate the fact that no other golf company has as many majors (59) won with their clubs? so I'd definitely say they're one of the 'greats'.

but they've also had me hooked for life, so I might be biased haha. ever since I learned to play on some beat up wilson blades. just wish their invex hadn't sucked (got it for free) really need to dump it
