Nothing like having a club that might spontaneously combust. If youre a man on the level of Chuck Norris (with manly chest hair and a brillo pad for a beard) then that is the only club for you.

How exactly is nitrogen going to combust?

all this exploding talk is rubbish. nitrogen is like 80% plain old air. same thing we put in our tires...but anyway, i have hit the Powerbilt Air Force 1. a buddy of mine writes golf club reviews and reviews clubs all the time so i was lucky (i guess) enough to hit this thing. its not a terrible driver at all. but its nothing special either. the sound it makes turned EVERYONE off. i hit it about the same length as my current driver, it felt okay off the tee, but it just isnt anything special and isnt worth the price at all. its just a gimmick (Nitrogen filled) to get people who dont know much about drivers to buy them. it has a pretty hot face but not much forgiveness, especially with people who struggle with a hook. definitely NOT worth the amount of money they're asking for it

We were saying it would explode if it was filled with hydrogen.

On a side not a friend of mine bought a powerbilt set and hes played with it maybe 20 times and he hit it the other day, a nice hit to, and it started to colapse in on itself from the top. I had just looked at it to and didnt notice any damage before he tee'd off.

Anyone else had this problem?

The only time Ive seen something similar is with my buddies old sumo. His brother closed the trunk on it and it but a small dent on the top of it and everytime he hits with it the dent gets bigger. The powerbilt isnt doing that yet. We hit it twice more after the dent appeared, and it doesnt look like it growing. So we are a little confused. Didnt seemed to affect his game too much, but he was having problems all day so its not a very good day to judge it off of.

Or the look on their face if it explodes for the one tee shot where they put one of those exploding golf balls on the tee?

I was just thinking about that. For a few seconds their they would think they killed his driver. Thatd be hilarious.

How big of crock? Let's try some science here. Doing a little math, there are 0.5947 grams of air inside a 460cc clubhead. If it is nitrogen only, there are 0.5736 grams, so the nitrogen-filled clubhead would be 0.0211 grams, or 21 milligrams, lighter if all else was equal.

Some further digging reveals that a grain of coarse sand weighs about 11 milligrams according to "Earth Science: Geology, the Environment, amd the Universe". So the nitro club would be a whopping 2 grains of coarse sand lighter.

Another consideration would be if there is any difference in compressibility which would lead towards a different rebound characteristic. With the similarities of the gasses and the very limited deformation of the clubface at impact, the answer is no.

So how big of crock? A big one - no validity whatsoever.
