To get used to new irons? Yes I realize this "depends", I'm just wondering what your experiences have been.

I've had mine for about 4 rounds and a dozen practice sessions. I really like them, much more than my old irons, but checking my stats I'm not playing as well with them. I've only hit 21% of GIR, compared to 38% last year with my old irons. Its still early though...

Is probably still too early. Since your sig has you playing cci forged (I am assuming those are your new irons) here are a couple of reasons for a longer adjustment time. 1) if you played cast before, you could be getting used to the forged feel. 2) if you played G1 irons before and switched to players irons. 3) if the clubs have a different shaft with a different weight or stiffness.

Dont give up on those new clubs. You will get used to them eventually and hit better.

You are correct on all three of your points! Nice guesses. Oh yeah I'm not giving up! I have not even played enough with them to really know exactly what every club's yardage is yet. I can tell the upside is worth the struggles though, the good shots are SO good. I have changed every club in my bag except the driver since last year in an effort to improve, and I'm just wondering what other people's experiences are with settling into a new set.

LOL! I just threw out some ideas and it happened to be exactly your situation. Good luck!

If they are properly fitted to you, then the process of acclimation shouldn't take too long. Trying to hit too stiff of a shaft or other "poor-fit" factors may take so long that you give up.

I've had mine for around a dozen rounds now and am pretty well used to them.

Well, it took me about 4 months, but i'm guessing it won't take you that long. I switched from graphite irons to steel. For me it took a lot of getting used to.

I just switch to Nike from Titleist. Took me 3 days to get used to. Damn they feel the same. same ball flight and distance too .

Some good info before me here. My thoughts are to be sure they are fitted to your properly. Also, the flex of the shaft compared to what you had in the older irons. Big variables here.

As said above I think it's different from situation to situation. When I got my new putter and new wedges I played better the first time out. New drivers take me a while on the range. The last iron switch I had was from graphite to steel and from an older set to a new GI iron. They felt better right off the bat, but I think my scores suffered for about 4-5 rounds before I hit them enough on the range to figure everything out. My new irons should be coming in early next week and I hope the switch doesn't take too long. I am also going from some cast GI irons to some forged player's cavities, so I hope it works out for the better in the end. Who knows, it may be better right away for me because these are the first clubs I have ever been fitted for! Good luck and hang in there!

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
