I draw a small skull and crossbones in the large white area above the "titleist". No reason really but the dimples make good eye sockets

I write a DE with the E starting in the middle of the D nothing fancy just my initials of first and last name. Don't really feel like drawing stuff on the ball takes to much time and I might lose it.

I always colour in three adjacent dimples with a black texta to form a little triangle near the number on both sides. I always mark my balls thusly and have done so for more than 20 years.

It doesn't matter if your playing partners are using Pinnacles when you are using a Titleist, what about the hundred other players on the course or the hundred other players on the course the day before. That's why you mark your ball.

three triangle-lined dots below the logo, but if I play in a serious tournament - I mark balls differently to avoid confusion if provisional ball is put in play (one dot, two dots, three dots accordingly).

I also mark my provisional balls differently, I always have a few in the bag with my normal dots on them but also with P1 on them and one ball with P2 on it. I have never wanted to tempt fate by marking one with a P3 though!

I mark with a Green or Red dot (depends on mood) above manufacturer's name. Lately I started marking a putting line using the ole' Gatorade cap ring trick...works well...I can't bring myself to paying $5 to $6 on the plastic marking template and won't spend over $20+ on the gyro cyclotron super whamadyne ball marking contraption.

I always draw a line in orange sharpie between the Titleist label and the number on both sides. I have occasionally used dk blue or purple, depending on whom I am playing with.

Usually just one line across the name of the ball such as Prov1 or HX Tour. More of alignment rather than for personal markings. For tourneys, I put three blue dots around the number of the ball along with the line.

I put a blue underline under the number. Using a Pro V1x (or any ball w/ a red number) and the blue marking makes a nice contrast.

I know it's a little over the top but i put a bass clef the size of 5 dimples.

I use a consistently crappy ball...so I know which one is mine because none of the people I play with would be so foolish to play with such a lousy cheap ball. Well, then I also use an orange and a blue ball.

Ever since I've started playing TaylorMade TP Blacks, I've been somewhat put off by looking at the "TaylorMade" logo. So Now I use white-out and make my ball straight white.

I typically don't mark my ball. I just hit it where I know I can find it.

I didn't do it before either. But it seems we have an abundance of squirrels here. Every time- I hit right down the middle in the center of the fairway. But on a lot of shots when I get up to where my ball is supposed to be, it seems a squirrel has repositioned it into the rough. Some of the meaner squirrels even put it all the way into the trees!!! So now I mark mine with a line around the seam (not marking thru the writing). Also on one side of the ProV's just below the number there is a "smaller" dimple than the rest. I mark this dimple and three above to make what resembles a paw print. I use orange on the ProV1x's and green on the ProV1's Don't know why I picked these colors, just wanted something different than what I see used most -black, red, blue. Plus I get to do it when I'm at work, while I sitting around waiting on the phone to ring. Ricky

I use Nike balls, i use the swish as a nose, put 2 dots above the swish as eyes and a line below for a smile. I put it on the tee with the smile facing me and try to knock it off, the smile and the tee? lol.

In all my years of playing golf, I have never felt like I needed to mark a ball. I have never had a problem with identifying it or had anyone claim my ball was theirs. It just has never been a problem and I played almost daily back in the 80s and 90s with a bunch of retired fellows at Hilltop Lakes here in Texas and at Star Ranch in Thayne Wy.

Reminds me of a story... I was in need of a win on the last hole of a match the other day. I drove my ball right on the 9th hole (we'd started on the back) and, since it's a dogleg left, I'd been there plenty of times. As we're walking up, I say to my opponent "that guy just hit my ball." Another guy, playing the adjacent #10, had rolled a ball around in the rough to improve his lie, then played away from the exact spot I thought my ball was.

I get up there, and 20 yards away I see a Pro V1. I was playing a TP Black. A guy in our group drove off in his cart. He says the conversation went like this: "Excuse me, I think you hit the wrong ball." "No, I didn't." "I think you may have, we found a Pro V1." "I hit the right ball. I never play the wrong ball. I checked." "If you don't mind, could we check again?" So they checked, he had my TM ball, and the cart guy drove it back to me. I parred and won the hole after dropping next to the slight divot the guy had taken (dropping was fair since we had no way of determining the lie, but it certainly wasn't in the divot). The guy comes walking back to play his ball, talking on his cell phone, and never once apologizes or anything.

Erik J. Barzeski —  I knock a ball. It goes in a gopher hole. 🏌🏼‍♂️
