After about 6 hours of trying out different irons over the last two days, I ended up buying the Nike Victory Blades. Now my back has a little bit of a twinge in it so it will be a few days before I get to play with them.

I think if I ever got rid of my irons, I'd get those bad boys. Those are some sexy looking irons.

Do you like your Dymo driver and 3 wood?

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

ABSOEFFINGLUTELY.

The driver is awesome (I dont have the square one btw). I swing around 118 so I went with the xflex. I had a problem with really hitting the ball a mile high off the tee, and this thing gives me a great trajectory with great ball RPM (2400ish). It sounds a little funny, but man the ball just goes when you hit it flush. The 3W is great too, I am still getting used to it as its a little smaller than the T60 Ignite 3W I had before, but man this thing gets the ball in the air fast and it goes on forever. If your driver swing speed is 110+ and you hit this club flush, the ball is going 250 all day long. Its sick off the tee, a strong fairwar club as well. I really wish I had more chances to hit the club but the courses I usually play at done really give me a chance. I really loved my T60, but I could not hit it near as far and it wasn't as easy to get the ball in the air as this club is. If I had to choose between the two, and I could only have one, I'd take the 3W over the driver all day. Go hit one, its a great club.

I don't remember every single club I hit, and I can't remember what all the models were but here is the short list:

Mizuno: MP62, MP57, MP67, and MP32 Titliest: ZB, ZM, 775, and some cavity back A few other I hit was some crappy looking callaway, looked really bland, was almost like a split cavity, I think it was called x something. Hit a Ping, no idea what it was but I hated it. Hit 3 different Cobra's but nothing good enough to remember. The Mizunos were ok, 2 of the felt good, I didn't really like the other two. The two that felt good were probably 2nd and third on my list. I hated the Titliest, don't really know what it was, but the clubs just never felt good in my hands. I couldnt hit a decent shot because I didnt like how they felt. I had hit the Nike's before on a few occasions and really liked them. I had been reading about them since they came out. I really hadnt considered buying new irons until recently when I started hating my old irons and needed a change. I am admittedly a Nike honk, but I tried not to let that factor in my decision making. I did all of my testing with a 5, because that is the club i like to hit the most (idk why i just like it). The Nikes and the two Mizunos were similiar feel and such, but I was hitting a good 10-15 yards further with the Nike's. The biggest factor I think with the Nike's that got me to buy them over the Mizuno is the fact that I would have to have little to no adjustments done on the clubs so they fit me. On the Mizuno's I would have had to have several things adjusted included the shafts. I don't like the idea of buying a club then having to have it adjusted, and not knowing exactly how it will fill before you pay for it. I did immediately change the grips on the Nike's, I can't stand those velvet cord grips, if your hands are damp at all (and playing in houston's humidity they are non stop), the club slips and slides like you have grease on them.

    • That was a good watch. When I started working on pelvis in the backswing. I thought, this sounds contradictory to those leg straightening threads on the site. Erik has already done a correction. Then the last lesson we went more down the route of feeling the right knee gains flex. It doesn’t, but the feeling keeps my knee position in a good range. Also, I just realized how much extra work my right hip needed to do to stabilize the body with the proper weight shift. Those glute and hip stabilizers got worked. 🤣 I wish this evolution in the golf instruction happened 20 years ago! 😭

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: squirt to the right due to to much arm not enough turn. • The first issue Erik spoke about is something we worked on for my swing during both GEARS sessions. GEARS was showing my pelvis center moving towards the ball during the back swing. I wasn’t the 4” guy though! This forced me to correct on the downswing to give myself space. My hip rotation was to high as well. We corrected it by first getting the weight off my heels in my stance and getting my posture correct. Then the feel was shifting back into my right hip at a 45 degree angle. This kept my pelvis center from moving towards the ball at the start of the backswing. I also didn’t sway back as much as I felt I did because of the angle I was shifting. Feel Ain’t Real. The cool thing about GEARS is as you work on something you can see the exact (Real) change happening. On video, it is much harder to spot this issue because of the 2D nature of filming. But I know what to look for now. Sadly, I was hurt all last year and most of this year so I really haven’t been able to work on it much. I did do a lot of backswing work though.
