I have the pub links qualifier at a course about 30 minutes away. It is 36 holes, low 2 qualify. I am actually thinking about taking some embarassment and bringing a pull cart to save energy for those last nine holes...hopefully i can pull it off on Monday.

Use a friend to caddy. Publinks requires you walk, but you don't have to carry your bag most places. I play pancho every year to an old friend of mine's attempt to qualify. He uses a carry bag thankfully, I don't know how tour caddies carry those staff bags for 36 hole days. He has made match play all but a couple times, best finish made it to the semi-final round. I play some of my best golf every year after caddying for him. His ability to stay relaxed while competing seems to rub off for a round or two before I start trying to hard.

Welp here is how it went
first 18 : 37 38 75
second 18 : 37 35 72

Tied for second and top 2 made it...went to a playoff and i lost with a bogey on the first playoff hole, I am first alternate right now and hopefully i will get a call to play, but who knows...i ended up using a pull cart with no caddy so im sure that didnt help a lot but im glad i played better my second round...

Welp here is how it went

Hire a caddie next time just for the experience.

Great job though - much better than the 43/36 from the U.S. Open qualifier. Very good. Congrats.

1 stroke away from heading to match play i think in north carolina...i know i went just to get practice in big tournaments but when you are that close it just hurts...can think of so many shots i could have made including a lipout on 18 for birdie...oh well...always next time i guess...

If you see that many areas you could improve a little in then it was a really valuable experience. Your area must work differently than mine. After a 36 hole qualifying tournament, match play determines the only qualifier for sectionals.

    • Day (2 May 24) - somehow I missed posting both Tues and Weds practice sessions - so the streak ends and a new one begins…. Focus today was on ball first contact using the Divot Board for reference.   Worked with 7i, 9i and GW hitting hard foam balls.  Started hap hazardly and then settled back into my pre-shot setup.  Much more consistent in the latter.
    • So, Newey is out at Red Bull. Where does he go in a year? Is Max still with RBR in 2026? Hmmmm.
    • August 2010 Woodfin Ridge 18th hole Playing in a large tournament with a slew of friends and the last day was two man best ball. The 18th, when it was bent grass, was very fast due to a steep slope on the right side. I had seen many people over the years putt off the green from above the hole. I hit a great drive and 3W to 30’ left of the hole. With everyone watching my partner hit it way too fast and never high enough and his ball rolled all the way to the bottom of the green.  I hit mine much higher and the ball came to rest about 20” above the hole. Then it slowly started trickling towards the hole for a walkoff eagle! Nobody said anything except my partner who was yelling pretty loudly. I looked at the crowd and told them it was okay to clap because it was a great putt, and they gave me a bunch of polite golf claps and brought me a beer!
    • Day 127: 5/2/24 Stack Full Speed spectrum training session 6/24. Training speed was 5 mph higher than previous high, as was e-speed. Still not as high as I have done in previous programs, but just 1 mph lower. Battling through a neck issue, and possible trigger fingers. Happy with results.
    • Day 49. Played 9 from tees a bit beyond my comfort zone and was humbled. Hit a couple good shots so will take that at least.
