After what I saw Tiger do in the Open, I think he's done for the year. The passing of his dad is more than he can take and it's going to take a long time to recover.

I had a prop on Tiger to make the cut, nobody took the "NO".
A lot of players said, "what??? Tiger not make the cut, come on" he, in all his previous outings, had his dad with him.

I don't think he'll make the cut in the British

The mental part of golf is of utmost importance and right now he's in a mental slump and it's a big one. If he pulls himself up from his boot straps and get's it back together for the British, then he's one hellofa strong individual. and I take my golf cap off to him.

Give me a break, he was rusty from 9 weeks off. He didn't touch a club for a month and then he shows up to play on the toughest course since 1974. He will contend at the British Open. He may not win it, but he'll be top 10.

Swing = Stacked and On Plane when possible.

I also think he'll fare rather well at the British Open. But the fact that I thought he'd win the U.S. Open and he missed the cut still stings.

I think he'll definitely make the cut in the British Open. His bomb and gouge way of golf didn't and could'nt work at Winged Foot, plus he hadnt touched a golf club in about nine weeks. I think there are two ways to look at it and I think two ways Tiger looks at things. If he goes out and practices he goes balls to the wall, 14 hours a day and will contend greatly at the British. Or isnt practicing at all. Hes not going out for a few hours and hitting balls. Its either all or nothing with this guy. So if hes practicing then watch out. If hes not then who knows what to expect.

Tiger was a victim of taking too much time off. Golf is a game of consistency. Give him time to start putting together consistent swings, and he will be the Tiger of old.

if anybody is done mentally after the US Open it is Phil and Monty.
Tiger is fine. I just hope he'll play a couple of competitive rounds before B.O.

Gotta agree, though I do think Phil will bounce back all right after a few weeks. It knocked him down a few pegs, I'm sure. Monty will have a harder time I'd guess. How many more realistic shots at a major is he going to have?

If anything, I think Tiger is going to come back mad. We might just see the Tiger domination of old at the Buick. And on paper, I think, Hoylake should fit his game pretty well, much better than Winged Foot (as long as he keeps it in bounds).

He is only 43 you know.

They're saying Hoylake fits the Tiger/Phil type pretty well, yeah.

Tiger's 2006 isn't over by a long shot. I think he will make the cut for sure at the British Open and finish in the top-10 or top-15. I just don't think he will win it, but that's not because of him missing the cut at Winged Foot.

His game was rusty, and unless I see him some on the PGA tour between now and the British Open, I'm saying he will struggle once again. Then again, most of the time Tiger struggles, he still finishes very well.

Phil won't contend at the British Open either. It's never fit his eye, and this one will be no exception. I haven't seen a lot of the course yet, but if it's anything like the usual, Lefty will be hacking it up quite a bit. I'll have to see the course a little before making my final predictions for these two.

But Tiger isn't done for this year by any means. I predicted he would win the PGA Championship before the year started, so I'll stick to that.

Tiger has stated he will probably play at Cog Hill, Western Open?, between now and the British Open. After we see him there I think you can make a good guess how he will perform at the British.

Good gracious, I didn't think I'd stir up that much emotion

Tiger is not playing in either next week's Buick Championship, Cialis Western Open or the John Deere classic and those are the only ones up to the British Open. Unless he goes over the "pond" a week before the tourney, I'll stand pat. It's a tough course and the traps are, well, and Tiger's ball somehow finds em.

Don't get me wrong, guys, I think Tiger Woods is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, golfer we will see in our lifetime,,,,(at least mine)

I just feel the concentration isn't there right at this time. But we'll see, I hope he does.....I'm thinking -130 on the "No".

Actually, he said he'd probably play the Western next.

Yeah, I watched him say that in the press conference following his second round at Winged Foot.

Mikee, where'd you get your "information"?

He doesn't mention playing any tourneys except for the B.O. between now and then.

  • 4 weeks later...

Just serve up my words with a little salt, pepper and some tabasco and I´ll start eating them right away. I have a gaming website but I don´t gamble for that simple reason. I lose.

The only thing I´ll gamble on is my golf, I have some control over that. Except for a hook, you can talk to a fade but a hook just won´t listen.
