First off, I made my first legit birdie. The other birdies I make are usually from adults giving me advantages because I'm a kid.

From about 158 out, I used a 7i and it was a total pin seeker It collided REALLY hard with the flagstick, and made a reallyyy loud noise, haha. And my putting also got better, and I'm 1 putting most holes now.

1 putting most holes? That is not "better", that is extraordinary. Except if you are often right outside the green and chip it close.

Whoa really?

Thank yah! I changed my putter grip, and now it gives me alot better feel. Most putts under 15 ft I can get in 1. I mean yeah I still get some 2 putts, but 1 was the most common of today

Yeah, I par most holes with a bogey here and there. I expect to see more birdies happening! :)

Didn't notice the hcp index, but that can't be true. Reaching hcp 10 without a single birdie?

I have to agree with other posters here,If you are in fact a 10 handicap you have tasted a few birds here and there. And as far as the 1 putting,if it was just 50% of the time from 15 feet you should be a lower handicap than 10 saying you hit 50% of GIR.Seems maybe your math is off but hey if you like it I do too

He did say first legit birdie and that he was always getting strokes from adults, so he must be higher than 10.

Congrats on bird. How old are you?

Are you chipping it close, or are you hitting GIR?

...is that college bball really isn't "lower tier". The better teams have their rosters filled with guys who could play in the NBA. hell, guys used to come straight from high school to the NBA. I really don't think there's much of a difference skill-wise between the two.

Yeah, I get birdies from adults, so remember that. Today was just my first LEGITIMATE birdie.

And everyday I practice my irons in my back yard, with my pool being the green, so I can get GIR most of the time. Then it's just putting from there

You don't play off 10.

You don't hit GIR most of the time. You don't get most puts from 15 feet. Adults who give you birdies are doing the wrong thing. Those are not birdies. A 10 handicapper would expect to have on average at least one birdie per round.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Yeah I'm around a 10 handicapper* and I get about 2-3 birdies around. My clubhouse is getting a computer thingy for handicaps.

Yeah, but even a 36 handicap is going to get birdies on a fairly regular basis, by that I mean every few rounds or so.

I don't know about that.

I usually make 1 birdie per 36 holes and I play off a 10. If you are someone like me who only hits about 5-7 GIR you are not going to have many chances at birdie's. I just have a pretty good short game.

At a 15, I don't get birdies on a regular basis. My good rounds mostly consist of pars and bogeys and no doubles.

Really, most people I know start getting birdies when they get under 20 hcp.

If you are GIR most of the time, and you one-putt most of the time, then you should have lots of birdies. Also remember you can't have a legit handicap if people are giving you strokes. If you ever want to play for money though...

On a side note, I'm now an 11.4 and got 3 birdies during 18 today. 2 doubles though which I'm none too proud of.
