Hey all.... name is Wade... new member here, very amateur golfer and a little about me.

I grew up in Nebraska and didn't pick up golfing until about age 20-21, played quite a bit in Omaha (great golf area) but was always (and still am) a duffer. Shot in the high 90's/low 100's most of the time but had a great time with friends and co-workers. Got married in 1998 and moved out of Nebraska to Southern California. Lived in Riverside for about a year (hated the area), but continued to golf some, but never with much improvement.

Then moved to the Santa Cruz Area in Central/Northern Cali. and lived there going on 10 years. The golf outings have become more and more infrequent and virtually non existent over the past few years since having kids (have 4 year old twin girls) except for a 9'er every couple months when I sneak out of work early on Fridays. My most memorable was playing the Kapalua Plantation Course in Maui a couple years ago on vacation (was in the low 100's before hole 17/18 when we had to stop for dark).

You can see my current equipment list in my Signature...the Irons/Bag came from Nebraska with me, so 12+ years old and the wood were new when we first moved up here, so 9-10ish years old now. You can also see that I've ordered a new set of irons/bag and a inexpensive used Hybrid to play with (that I've never actually hit one before). So I'm looking forward to some upgrades hopefully.

I just know I want to start playing more and I will be setting some goals, first for maybe at least 1 round of 18/mth plus a few 9's tossed in, a certain # of Driving Range visits, etc. If I can meet those then I'd like be able to consistently shoot in the 90's again, but mostly I just want to get out and enjoy some golfing again.

One last oddity... I am 100% left handed at every, except golfing... I tried for a while and the grip felt FANTASTIC, I just couldn't make the arms move the way the needed to to hit very well.

Thanks
Wade

Thanks, I'll have to try to get down there... The only course I've played 18 at in NorCal is DeLaVeaga in Santa Cruz (and not since they redid most of it), otherwise just 9 holes here in Scotts Valley. I think they have Tee-time deals at Laguna Seca from time to time on the GolfNow.Com email list thing that I just signed up for also.
