Since you're from Virginia (i.e. USA team), I'll say we're 2:1 underdogs. The only reason why I give us such "good" odds is that the Euro team is looking rather shoddy at times and the American team will see some new blood, giving us some fresh talent.

Europe retains by a score of 15 1/2 to 12 1/2. I think those numbers add up to the correct amount.

It's always tough to tell, but that's my prediction at this moment. Europe's team looks even stronger on paper this time than it did last time, and they waxed us in 2004. It just depends who shows up though and who doesn't show up.

Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk is a lot better than Tiger and Phil or Tiger and anyone else for that matter. I'm not sure if DiMarco, Verplank, and Leonard will make it either. All three of those guys formed solid teams at last year's Presidents Cup. (DiMarco with Phil and Verplank with Leonard)

So as of now, I don't see any way the USA can win it, but I'll be cheering like hell.

Yes, Europe looks strong (and the non-US President's Cup team for 2007 looks far stronger). But maybe that's a good thing for Team USA. On paper the US has had the stronger team most years, but it hasn't been working out that way in the Cup. Maybe this year we turn the tables.

Nick Faldo in an interview hinted at Europes secret 4 ball strategy, and that an observant viewer could figure it out? He stated that it was Tony Jacklins idea and that if the USA team used it they would win every time. Is he just tweaking everyone or does he mean it?

I read the same article and wasn't sure what he was talking about. If I were to go back and look at the pairings, it might be obvious. It might even be something the U.S. is aware of but doesn't place much weight in, like having your longer driver hit on the par 5s and your accurate guy on the par 3s, that sort of thing.

But yeah, as of right now, I'm not sure what he meant.

    • Interesting discussion. Consider this; we spend 95% of our open eyed life perceiving everything in a front view. That's what we are/become good at. Our eyes/brain don't develop an accurate  sideways aiming system. Plus our perception 'bends' based on shape of the hole, slope, etc. Anyway, I pick a spot 5 feet in between the ball and target and set up my toes parallel to it. That's it. From 150 yards out Im off by 2 feet. Big whoop. You can try to compensate for it, but unless you are good at changing aim in 0.01 degree increments, chances are you will overcompensate.
