I everyone to make a long story short I just revamped my entire bag and now have a big gap from my 10.5 driver to my 19 deg. hybrid. I was wondering what one club could be a good filler for those in between holes where I don't need my driver but need something better than a 3H. Any suggestions? I was thinking a 15 deg. wood or maybe a 13 deg. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks!

How far do you hit the driver compared to the 19º hybrid?

The gap in degrees is from 10.5 to 19, so I'd suppose a 15º wood would fill the gap nicely. It really depends what your plan is and if you can tweak the club. As far as I can count, you've got 12 clubs in your bag. You could of course consider getting a 13º wood and a 15º wood. If you can tweak your clubs, choking down and swinging shorter with the driver will give you less distance. A 15º wood can't be hit as far as a 13º, but the other way around is possible.

Look at your distances and what yardage you feel you need another club, then pick whatever you hit that distance.

If anything, I wonder if you need to clear up that yardage gap. I have a similar bag, I carry a 10 degree driver and after that a 20 degree hybrid and a 21 degree 7 wood. I figure I have about a 30 yard gap with between those two clubs (maybe even more) but a 3 wood is a low percentage club for me, and it would be the appropriate yardage filler. My theory is that if I am not within 200 yards of the green, I am better served to just lay up. So that is usually what I do.

The way I think about it is, any par 4 under 375 is reachable in two with two high percentage clubs. a 400+ par 4 I am better off hitting a hybrid (high percentage) followed by a mid iron and have a wedge into the green. I get to play the fairway, and I have a good chance of making a bogey at worst.

I think the value of a 215~235 club from the fairway comes in when you want to reach the green in two on a par 5.

one other idea is the rawpower 3 wood from Hireko golf.

It is a heavier head so it plays at the same length as a 5 wood, but with the loft of a 3 wood. being only 42" long its probably pretty easy to hit.

Start with the Taylormades from the same line as your driver, you'll be more accustomed to its feel. And find a 3w with 15 degree and you should be on the right track to solving your problem, imo

15 degree fairway wood would work, the 13 degree is very difficult to hit. the other option is try hitting your driver off the fairway for fun. It works well for low fade under trees. The set up is aim left open the club face and take the club slightly outside in to promote a fade. I hit my driver with a cut into a strong wind on par 3s about 210 yards with great results on a tee, you can vary the distance by choking up on the club and a smooth swing.

be willing to try different shots you never know when it will come in handy.

I played today, still cant break 100, I've shot 105 at this course 3 times in a row now, but the biggest thing I found out is how well I can hit my 19* 3 Hybrid, I hit a shot 200 off a tee and was absolutely crushing drives wit my new R7 Limited ( I could only hit 240 max with my G10). I was hitting 260-270 on the drives depending on the wind. So I'm figuring a 70 yard gap from my 19* hybrid to the driver. I've been looking at a used 15* 2007 Burner 3 wood on ebay. I'm hoping I can snag it cheap.

Looking at your bag, you hit hybrids well. I'd go with a 15-17* hybrid. You might actually have the same carry as a 3 wood, but not quite the roll out a 3 wood does. The 3 wood is not a high percentage club off the fairway. I like mine, but only use it once or twice a round off the turf.
