Had the pleasure of being at the British Open at Royal Lytham-St. Anne's in 1995 on Saturday and Sunday. And then a Masters practice round in 2004. An alternative way to spectate: start at hole 18 and walk the course backwards to hole 1. You get to see all the holes, fairways, and tee boxes, plus a little of all the players on that day. And if there is a place to sit, you can sit on the grass (if not wet, etc.) to rest from time to time, or flop in a handy bleacher for a while.

It is loads of fun but can be hard to follow the flow of things unless you are perched near a scoreboard.

I was at the US Senior Open a few years back when it was at Salem CC. Was a great chance to see Nicklaus, Watson, et all. I think Bruce Fleisher ended up winning. Jack's gallery that day certainly matched Tiger's and Phil's when I saw them at the Deutsche Bank.
