Long, but very good .

I track him every week he's in a tournament and watched him at the Wachovia this year. I'm hoping he gets into the top 125 at the very least...

I've been a big David Duval fan since he shot that 59 at the Hope, then to see him go on and contend in the Masters then finally breaking through at the 01 British at Royal Lytham was awesome, I really expected him to rule golf for a while, rival Tiger for #1 for a few years but he went the opposite way.

Each week I track how Duval does and I'm usually sad but this year it really seems like he's playing his way back and I think the US Open where he finished 16th was great, 1 spot away from being exempt next year.

I really hope he gets his status for next year, and I think he will. He's got plenty of time left to finish up the season high enough to earn exemption next year. I can't wait to see him win again, that will shut up all of those negative people who wish him to retire.

I say keep it up DD, we're all behind you!

That was definitely one of the best interviews I've read in quite some time. It was very informative as well.

I was honestly never a huge David Duval fan, but I still enjoyed watching him swing a club and compete with the best in the game. After seeing what he has gone through in the last few years, I've become a much bigger fan of him. It says something about a golfer who once had it all, then seemingly lost everything, only to gain a portion of it back once again.

And he shoots is straight like I do most of the time.

Thanks for the link Dave!

I just decided that Duval is my dark horse pick to win the Open Championship.

He has said before that it's his favorite (obviously) so you read it here first, DD 2006 Open Championship winner!

Puttin4Bird, I totally agree, DD is my pick for Royal O.B. as well. I absolutely love that guy. The only thing about David I dont like is that he pulls his head up before impact, other than that, he is my favorite player on tour by far. Tigers the best to watch obviously but Double D is someone we can all semi relate to (struggling with golf) and he's very easy to root for. Good, solid, honest, tells it like it is guy. I have allot of repect for him and hope he does great this week and further keeps his card and finish his run back to the top 10 in the world, where he belongs at least for another 10 years....

I found it funny, that one of the all-nike players has obviously a Sonartec wood on the picture included in the interview

-4 through 2 rounds. Not too bad four DD. He's going to struggle to catch Tiger, but if he can continue the solid play, a top 10 is not out of the question.

Did you really say "catch Tiger"??? C'mon, isn't too early to be drunk ?!?!?

This tournament is over. As a matter of fact - it was over yesterday, when TW was only 1 back. I'd love to see DD in top 10, it would put him in great position to keep the tour card (his exemption expires after this season).

I only live a few minutes away...it is a great course to have close by. I spend hours there practicing as well.

His honesty is rather revealing. That coupled with his responses I heard at the Nike Round Table shows he's not one to mince words.

As they said, probably the only Democrat on the PGA Tour

Never.

Now who's drunk? I will say that the fat lady is tuning up though. There are only a handful of players I see having a chance to catch him...Retif, Ernie, Phil, Sergio...but the odds are not in their favor right ow

Exactly. I've never watched a player more closely that DD this year. There was a good quote on him (I can't remember who or where I heard it...XM radio I think) that they said he's getting real close because he's getting angry at his poor shots where before he was happy if he just hit the ball.

I know it's only 36 holes, but his record of 10 for 10 in majors having a lead(or tie) after 54 holes is UNFREAK'NBELIVEABLE. Of course any of the guys you mentioned are capable of shooting a 62 or 63, but I'd say right now we're at about 1000:1 odds

I thought it was over this morning when Tiger pulled away, but when Ernie matched his score it made it a competition again, this weekend is going to be awesome!

There are some really big names right up toward the top of the leaderboard, tomorrow will be very interesting to see how things setup for the final round. I don't see Tiger blowing it but with only a 1 stroke lead it's very possible.

How about DD hanging right there with another -2 round. He's showing signs everytime he plays. I love it!
