Camilo Villegas?

Anthony Kim?

I've noticed these two young guys similarly have the same goals on tour. In 08, both were seeking their first wins. Anthony got 2 that year. Camilo got his first at the BMW champs, but won the Tour championship within 3 weeks. This year AK has statistically played better, but Camilo stands at world's 14 as Anthony's at 15, right behind him. Camilo also has more earnings, but AK made significantly more this year. I understand this year isn't over yet.

These two golfers are fun to analyze, as they both are getting dynamic fast . Although here's a major key: Camilo's been around a little longer, turned to the tour at 04 whereas Kim joined the tour at 06. Will AK surpass?

We'll see who plays better at the PGA Championship

Woods: 3 & 5 Power Play Caman's
Irons: Rac'sWedges: Professional Open Series 690 52 & 60 degreePutter: Crimson Series 550Bag: Stand BagGlove: MLBall: JUICE

I like Kim's game more as a player. But Anthony Kim is a little bit overrated and overhyped at times.

Driver Ping G10 10.5*
Hybrids Ping G5 (3) 19* Bridgestone J36 (4) 22*
Irons Mizuno MP-57 5-PW
Wedges Srixon WG-504 52.08 Bridgestone WC Copper 56.13
Putter 33" Scotty Cameron Studio Select #2

I voted for AK. No specific reason other than "gut" tells me that he is on the cusp of greatness.

CV

I can't stand Kim and agree that he's overhyped...talented, but overhyped. I think McIlroy will be far better, but he's not in this equation.
905R 10.5* - Speeder (S) ::: 909F2 15.5* - VooDoo (S) ::: 909H 19* - VooDoo (S) ::: Vokey Spin Milled 52.08, 56.11 & 60.07
MX-25 4-P - Dynamic Gold (S300)
Studio Style Newport 2 - 33/350

I am just not a fan of Villegas' swing. AK has a stronger foundation.

I say AK but only as i think the guy's awesome! Dude is super talented and by getting himself a personal trainer, etc. he looks like he's gonna try and concentrate on golf! Camilo is also a quality player but i think, if he stays healthy, AK will be back challenging for most of the events that he plays in!

AK will win more tournaments in 2010.

wedges:, 52˚, 56˚, 60˚
putter: Studio Select Newport 1.5

I vote AK.

He has a better swing and I think that he has more talent burried deep down inside. For a smaller dude, he absolutely rips the ball, and he plays with no fear. AK's biggest opposition is himself. He doesn't have that mature mentality like Tiger does. But then again, After Tiger won the '97 Masters (He was only 21 I think) he did a lot of growing up himself. Ultimately, if AK keeps his head on straight and continues at the rate he's doing, he will be great.

i went with AK. i actually like camilo more, but i feel like AK has more potential.

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
