I've been working on my full swing quite a bit and it has made it's way into my chips. Somehow, I'm having trouble not pushing them. When I'm 20 feet away, they'll end up 2 feet right of the target. I also noticed that I've started doing this strange thing when I chip where I take the club back on line, but when I swing back down I come over the top and uncock my wrists too soon, dumping the toe into the ground behind the ball which opens the face and hits the ball fat. This pretty much only happens on short chips inside of 20 feet. On longer chips, I don't seem to have so much of a problem. What could the problem be?

It's the same problem outlined in the chipping shanks thread. Not turning through the shot forces the arms and hands to take over and just causes the club to flip.

I don't cock my wrists on a chip shot.

I don't either, which could be one cause. Also, check your alignment, you dont' always think about that when chipping, but I like to have a real square stance, as I like to take the club straight back and straight thru much like you would a putt.

Same here. I take a putter grip and don't cock or rotate my wrists at all on chip shots. But then, I only try to run it with a pure chip if I've got a good lie and am maybe 15 yards or less from the green.

That's probably fine for shorter chips. For anything longer than that, most pros use some amount of wrist hinge. It keeps everything fluid and athletic supposedly. I find this the case as well.
