I was going to go see it this weekend but I never made it to the theater. From the previews it looks pretty entertaining and looks like it has plenty of one-liners that people will be quoting.

It certainly had its funny moments (not overall funny though), but as far as i recall seeing the preview and the actual movie - lots of the stuff in the preview are the funniest parts and there isnt much more to it.

But its definitely worth watching, once or twice...

Awesome movie! loved it! it's growing on me more and more too since I saw it opening night. It was one of those rare movies where I loved it coming out of the theater and it's kept on growing on me later.

Best movie of 2009 for me definitely:
1. Inglourious Basterds
2. Star Trek
3. District 9
I also liked Funny People, UP, Hangover,

OK:
Julie and Julia, Watchmen, Harry Potter

Didn't really like:
Public Enemies, Transformers 2, Night at the Museum 2, Bruno, Knowing (turned it off after like 20 minutes, whoever marketed this movie totally was misleading! it was not what I was expecting)

And I think that's all the movies I can remember i've seen in theaters in 2009.

Oh ya, and i'm utterly anticipating Shutter Island!

Lefty Golfer!

I REALLY enjoyed it. It is hilarious at times. It's obviously got it's typical Tarantino share of blood and violence, but it's powerfully done - for this movie's sake. One of the most beautiful scenes in the movie is the explosion of blood from a gunshot - the way it floats and the way it's lighted is awesome. The one thing this movie has that most other Tarantino movies lack is a good bit of suspense.

I thought the acting by Christoph Waltz was PHENOMENAL.

This is one I'll probably watch alone or with some friends, not really my wife's kind of movie. It's weird to think of Brad Pitt being almost 50. Tarantino is kind of an idiot and his movies are hit-and-miss for me, but I will definitely see this one.

I had a feeling it could be one of those movies where all the funny bits are in the preview and considering I didn't find the preview funny I think I'll give this one a miss.

i saw it last night. brad pitt's overblown southern accent amused me to no end, especially when he was speaking "italian." his exchanges with hans were all great in general.

...bon-journ-o.

Just the look on Pitt's face trying to say "arrivederci" was priceless......Avy-ver-der-chi

That is what previews are all about. They can spoil comedy films such as Bruno were the jokes such as "I gave him a traditional african american name- OJ" don't work second time round.

With the Basterds I didn't think it was meant to be about one off laughts, though there were some. Instead I found the characters/ caricatures amusing for the duration of the film. Brad Pitt especially. Some people said he was poorly cast, way to miss the point!
