Hey there! Man this day was awesome! Thought it's good to share with you guys cause this forum has played a huge part in my game! I went to play nine holes in the morning and the round was going well, +1, but at the 8th hole, par 3, I shanked twice a chip and ended with a nasty 7 to finish that round with a 40 (+6).

So I went to school and then back to the golf course, quite disappointed because of the morning round. The round started fine, par, par but at the 3th hole... 3 putts... 4th... 3 putts... 5th.... 3 putts! +3 and I'm thinking here we go again...

At the 6th hole, par 5, I had the birdie attempt and I made it... 7th hole... I manage to put my second shot 20cm from the flag, I guess something around 9 inches from the hole and get birdie and at 8th I leave myself with something around 6 feet for birdie and made it! At the 9th I gave a chance to the putt for birdie but get par for even par for 9 holes.

Something I have never accomplished, so I'm happy, I proved to myself that I can do it haha!

Cheers!

Great accomplishment, but it's actually only half a round.... now you need to shoot for 18 holes.

That's a huge accomplishment, congrats!

I've played even par, but currently only one hole at the time, never 9 or 18 holes.

Thanks for the comments mates! I know it's only half of the round, but you have to start with something... my low score in this new home course is 71 (+3) so I'm not doing that bad, I think

Cheers!

That's awesome... congrats!

I had my first even par 9 last year and finished +3 for 18 despite a huge storm rolling in and it raining in sheets on the last two holes.

This year I made a 15-20 footer for bird on 18 to shoot even par for 18 for the first time in my life... it was a pretty special feeling. Especially since I thought I blew my even par round when I missed a 5 footer for bird on 17.

Anyway... keep it up and sub 70's will be next, I know that's my next goal.

Great work! I would think it's even better that you came back from those bogeys. I'm sure you can get par on those holes most of the time, so under par is attainable.

Congrats! Shooting par is like breaking any other milestone. Once you've done it, it doesn't seem as hard anymore. Once I finally shot even par it was like the monkey was off my back and I shoot even or under quite often now. The next hurdle for you is breaking par and let me tell you, getting that one final stroke off your game to get under par will seem difficult. It took me a while to get that last stroke.

Sounds like you did learn a valuable lesson in golf though... anything can happen. You started off poorly and was able to recover. Prime example while I try to control my emotions on the course now, not get to upset at a bad shot because I feel like I could have a string of birdies at any time.
