I love paddy too, but the one shot i saw him hit today was a chunked wedge approach shot... i don't know if he's actually all the way back, he seems to still hit some surprisingly bad shots.

everybody hits surprisingly bad shots.

Not a big Paddy fan, but he was cool when I followed him on Tuesday. He hit some good shots during the practice round.

In terms of professionalism he is possibly unsurpassed. Its pretty incredible for Harrington to be a multiple major winner with a chance for a lot more. To go from being second place sally, to major winner, to multiple major winner, to back to back open champion and he didnt have an easy time of it with family issues to contend with.

His performances in recent weeks indicate he is back and got knows what he will be capable of.

McIlroy could be a multiple major winner too. Good times for Irish golf.

I like paddy he plays a gentlemen sport like the way it is suppose to be.

nice round today again, makes 5 birdies in last 7 holes and closes at -4, seems to be getting into contention every time he plays now

Being Irish, I follow Padraig all the time, and I thought he'd blown it when he went after a new swing. It's great to see him back in the groove - regardless of the two recent disasters. I'd like to see him learn some patience though. Before he won his first major he was in a great position in the British Open and then again in the US Open, and decided he had to make birdies - he blew it as a result. Exactly the same happened at the par three in the USPGA - he feels he has to make a move.

Consider his much acclaimed 2nd shot at the 17th in the final round of the British Open last year. A huge shot to three feet for an eagle... and the Claret Jug was his. It was a brilliant shot, but it hopped a bunker and it wasn't necessary to be so aggressive. Patience, Paddy, patience

I'd love to see him win 2 or 3 more majors. Prolly my favorite player these days and its good to see him getting back on form.

I was mildly disappointed with Paddy's year. Though working in his swing change, he had 3 top ten finishes, however, I was hoping for more. I put Paddy right up there with Tiger and Phil. When Tiger changed his swing during his "bad" year in 2004, he had 13 top ten finishes and 1 win. I have Paddy winning one of the upcoming Fedex tourneys. Either way, his swing change is seemingly done. Hopefully, Paddy keeps up his momentum in Europe after the Fedex series is done.

Another amazing thing about the ultra-driven guys like Paddy and Tiger is that they will change their swings to improve - even after years like Paddy had in '08 and Tiger in '01, '02, and '03!

everybody hits surprisingly bad shots.

He still makes a habit of it more than a top tour pro does.

Is he improving from the beginning of the year... absolutely...

Padraig wins a major next year. He will be the first of the Tiger chasers to get past the three major mark.

Being Irish as well, it's great to see Paddy back playing well again. He's a great ambassador for Ireland and golf. If only he'd stop tinkering so much with his swing!

Pad is my favorite golfer. I really enjoyed his episode on Playing Lesson with the Pros. He is really down to earth and can swing like happy gilmore.lol

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
